  • Bringing in a car from the US

I've been doing alot of research, and i don't see myself having any problems bringing back an s14 240, but what i am worried about is customs/border patrol getting pissed at me for selling my car while i'm there. Because i would be driving into the us, making the swap, and then driving back with the 240.

Do you think i will get a hard time for leaving it or would i be fine saying i just sold it, i didn't know it was illegal here. But even with that, i figure at the border they're probly going to ask will this car be coming back with you.

The car is sick so i really want to do this, let me know what you think.

    thanks,

    Sean

If your taking a car like a skyline they might get you to sign an affidavit saying you will not sell the car. So if you do happen to sell you could get in major sh1t crossing the border back into Canada.

and what engine? If its all exterior & interior work save the time and hassle. Pick up a S14 and do the work you will be far better off imo

i've crossed MANY time in my Gts-t and a GTR. Never had to sign anything...

              don't worry about it.

you're coming back to Canada, through CBP, not the US Customs.

              Just do it..

Well if you drive a skyline out... and drive a S14 in, there will be some questions I can promise you. Canadian & U.S. Customs tend to work together on many things.

If the person or any friend is a dual citizen have them drive across to canada and trade.

the Kouki is nice stock. IMO though, I think you should keep it CDN. Im sure if you look hard enough you could find a S14 here w/o all the questions about bringing it over.

I've decided against the trade, i'd miss rhd too much. I think i'll pursue an s13 instead.

                        Thanks for the info.
