yikes you have your hands full at the moment. I just moved to Alberta 3 weeks ago to try and find a job with my boyfriend but so far nothing. Alberta worse than BC from what iv experienced so far. hard times but what can you do except keep on trying
Ur trying to find a job with ur bf? mayb just try to get one urself, u don't need to be with ur bf every second of every day.
The lower mainland in BC is pretty hurtin for jobs right now, but my buddy in Calgary said there is still quite a bit of places hiring atm and up North even more.

Yeah, LM sucks for jobs. Lucky me there's a job fair going on tomorrow that I can check out. It's even tougher for students since most stores/restaurants are trying to keep the more experienced staff in place of kids.

Ya wats happening is so many more ppl don't have jobs now, including ppl with lots of experience. So many ppl r so desperate for a job they will take nething even tho they have a lot of experience in things. So when everyone applies for a job there is likely gonna be a lot more experienced ppl than you, and it is now an employers market and they can sit back and pick out the best ppl. I sat at home and emailed resumes for 2 months and didn't get one response, I went to a free job workshop thing at "Carrer Tracks" and they tought me how to effectively look for a job and how to conduct interviews. I went out one day and handed out resumes to local places I know regularly hire and got an interview that day and it looks pretty good.
So just go out there and apply, make it easy on urself and think about the places u would want to work at and then go to them in a big circle around your city so you don't waste netime goin back and froth from one side of the city to the other.
Make sure you talk to the manager or whoever is in charge of hiring(never hand ur resume in to the secretary or whoever is just there) as u want to impress the person who is doing the actual hiring. If they are not in, ask when they will be and come back later. They will remember u WAY more than just some person emailing them their resume. Emailing resumes doesn't do **** all!!
Make sure ur very nice, wear a collered dress shirt with nice pants and shoes, be polite and I find throwing in a couple jokes and try to find something you guys have in similar and talk about that for a little bit if you have a chance helps. I pretty much just try to make the person my friend while at the same time show I am respectful, reliable, hard-working, etc...
Also call back in a couple days once u have handed in ur resume, you may get a second look at ur resume and that will give u an advantage above everyone else if ur resume is done well. I went to my interview on Monday, if they dont call today(wed) I will call them tmr and see if they have made a decision about the job yet.
Wow that was a lot, I hope I helped one of you.
EDIT OH ************ YES IN THE MIDDLE OF WRITING THIS THEY CALLED AND I START TMR AT 6:30AM.........SKYLINE HERE I COME BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

id say there's lots of reasons for a man to be this excited:
getting a skyline
getting a job that allows him to buy lots of stuff for his skyline getting girls draped all over him cuz he has a skyline
getting rid of the back seats of his skyline so people don't mooch rides
getting slurpees
getting a whack-a-mole machine at home
getting a whack-a-mole machine in the trunk of his skyline
go buy an FD if you want girls all over you... Skylines attract guys not girls... most girls will say something like " nice mustang " or somethin
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Solid advice, but in 90% (I'm NOT kidding, this is literal) of my applications, e-mailing got more results than walking in, even when handing my resume off to the managers. I' get interviews, but then it dies off afterward. I try online applications on multiple occasions, and it's pretty wishy-washy with those. I'm shooting for stocking work at supermarkets, or at the LEAST weekends washing cars at dealerships, but craigslist/dealership sites are slim pickings.

Not sure what kind of jobs you have been for... Calgary and Edmonton have lots of openings in practically every area.
