  • Any skyline owners hit up the trails?

Just got back into it today after being out for a couple years and I can say I missed it wow.

Just bought a 2008 Big hit II 888VF up front Fox out back w/ 500LB spring hayes 9's and a sram X7 derailer on single tracks and some decent dirt tires. The main person with this is commuting to get back into shape for my police testing. So if you got one lets see it and if you dont mtb ,maybe you road bike or BMX.

Every time I take my bike out I am reminded of how badly out of shape I am.

I ride in Kelowna. Usually all mountain style stuff nearby on an Intense 29er with mods.
But today I was doing chairlifting at Silverstar (Vernon area) with a long travel Norco Vps.
I've got a few hard tails and a cool old road titanium, but I never ride them. Boring!

I have been Riding a Rocky Mountain Blizzard for a few years now. I used to have several bikes including downhill and road but I sold them all cuz the blizzard is the only one I use. I don't get out to ride as much as I used to but when I do i try to go out for the epic long cross country rides. I'm currently planning a 2 night bike trip with my brother to do later this summer. We'd be looking at covering over 150km of trail for the trip.

i used to but i sold my old shore to buy my R32, man have bikes ever changed since i last looked at them, the bighit looks sick.

i miss it alot i wish i had my bike back some days, had her for years and puts tons of money into it, i used to have hope mono Ti 6 brakes on with a 9" rotor in the front but for what i rode was plain useless so i sold the set to some guy in fernie. never buy a manitou 6 way swinger, my blown vanilla R rode way better than that manitou crap

and i had abunch of spare parts laying around so i made a decent street bike, the back rim not sure what it was but it was sturdy as hell hit a decent size jump, about 3 FT high and about 8 foot gap and cased the crap outta it didnt even phase it.

and my walmart special, which came before the stuff, had alot of parts on it that were worth more than the bike alone lol, i outroad the bike, took the BB bearings out and dented the crap outta the seat tube.

so there was my biking life in reverse, boy do i miss it.

              Good to see this.

I've been riding since highschool and have the previlege of accessing the North Shore and Whistler within hours.

I used to put in 25 days and 275 runs on Whistler Mountain Bike Park last season and this year I'm up to about 10 days and 98 runs so far.

              Here's my rig:

              2008 Commencal Furious.

              7 in front and rear.

I have Titanium spring on rear and brought the bike down to 37 lbs at the moment. I used to ride big 8" bikes such as Super 8, Norco Team DH for most of my riding, but having learned a bit more flow and speed, I toned it down on size for flickability and versatility.

My bike's pretty hot. You can tell I like white on white though.

i was planning on making this type of thread recently lol. for getting back into shape, isnt a bighit overkill? lol i also quit biking for a few years. my old bike was a 2001 bigfoot with way to much money invested, and it was still a pile of junk. so i bought a dirtbike, and got back into that. as it turns out, dirtbiking isnt nearly as much fun as i remembered, and after 3 years, i had enough. so this spring i got a 2009 norco sasquatch. my first brand new bike worth talking about! i had to go with the large frame cuz i am 6 foot 6, and i am so happy with it. i wish i had just got a new bike rather than a dirtbike. its so much more fun. well, i am now off to winnipeg to hit the dirt jumps. enjoy!

i already got rid of that terrible seat and replaced it with a "we the people" bmx seat. it also sucks, but looks much better. gonna replace the bmx seat with something more dirt jumper styled.

yep lol that was me. has to be over a year by now.

just wish i could find another bike like my shore. that bike rode so damn nice. took 25ft+ stepdown and a 20ft stepdown case like a champ. also no hander landing it off a 3 foot curb like nothing. other than it was hard as hell to throw around. and to think i let it go for 600bucks just to buy my R32...

i was going to buy a friend 07 norco 250 for 400 bucks just so id have something. and i love the 250frames,

you let it go for 600 bucks?!?!? i would have bought that in a heart beat! and the 250 for 400 bucks is also a wicked deal, assuming it is in good condition. i plan on getting a big full suspension of some kind and a 250 within the next few years. all i do is dirt jumps, street/skate park, or downhill type stuff. at the moment, the sasquatch does it all, but id rather have something purpose built for each riding style.
