forrest was pressing foreward into anderson and got tagged... he wasnt back stepping...

anderson hits heavy and very accuratley... forrest got tagged 3 times, the 3rd time he knew there was nothing more he could do, as he was raising his arms up he saw anderson poised to pounce and dropped his arms knowing he was defeated...

forrest didnt dive, he didnt get offically injured(the medical suspenion report is due out by wednesday), he was just out classed by the one of, if not; the best fighter in MMA...

The Spyder kicks some serious a$$, he makes it look sooo easy, me and my buddys jaws hit the floor when we saw that fight. He made Forrest look so slow, but with Forrest being Forrest I thought it would of went 2-3 rounds

ohh well, Dana wanted some more action out of him.... he got it

you can't diss Griffin when you can't even spell his name properly.

Anderson was just on a different level, just as how Griffin would be if he fought 95% of the population who watched the fight.

I love tapout-ness on the internetz.

it could have gone 2-3 rounds if forrest didnt get tagged as much as he did...

i knew the fight was over when anderson almost did to griffin what he did to irvin... after that i knew it wasnt gonna last much longer

The key difference here wouldn't be strength, it was just accuracy and confidence.

Silva has a very conservative and calculated tactic about how he moves, almost fluid like. Compared to Griffin, who hits hard, but could not accurately land them, while exposing himself open, I thought it would be knock out in second or third round, not first like that. I don't think Griffin showed for the post fight interview, which leads me to think he is quite injured/shaken mentally and physically.

I'm stoked that Anderson will move on from Middleweight and go up to LH and show us what he can do there, but it's too bad that the chances of us seeing him go against his close friend, Machida will be slim to none, unless White comes with some big offers .

I was sure that exhaustion was the cause of his poor performance. Maybe he had to cut some weight for once. Odd as it was, we all saw it coming. Silva would probably defeat St-pierre (though he's my favorite fighter since his loss to Hughes way back when). Evans wouldn't beat Silva either however machida would be a threat to Silva.

                    Are you kidding me?!!

                    1. Forrest trained extremely hard. His poor performance? He stood pretty well against Silva. Irvin stood merely a minute last time Silva fought in LH devision. Forrest, who is on a different playing level from Irvin lasted over 3 minutes, which where Silva landed some major hits the last minute. Forrest still has my respect and is still a great fighter, this fight showcased not Forrest's "poor performance" but the genius and prodigy that Anderson truly is at 205.

                    2. How could you compare GSP to Silva. HAHA!!

                    You are comparing:

A man who's walking weight is over 210lbs, at 6'2", who dominated the Middleweight division and is now planning to move up to LH division for an obvious domination. 15 KO's out of 25 wins, 2 of which were from the light heavyweight division.

                    To:

GSP, who is 5'10" and 170lbs. Impeccable records in the Welterweight division.

"Silva would probably defeat St-Pierre"?! I respect both fighters, but they're in different class, and Silva being the much larger fighter, it'd be like watching the last Penn VS GSP fight...

                    3. Evans won't be fighting Silva for a while as he's fighting Rampage once the new season of UFC is over. It will take a while until we see Silva fighting either of them. I'd watch a Silva VS Jardine.

                    4. Anderson trains and is a very close friend of Lyoto. He publicly announced he would not be in a bout with Machida, but due to the interest in this match up UFC has also made a statement that they do not care for such request if the demand is there for that match up.

Sorry if I sound all TAPPED OUT, but I wanted to get things straight. Griffin was made look easy against Silva on Saturday night, but that does not mean in any way that he is washed, weak or "did not perform". He just went up against top two fighters in the world and to stand in the ring for 3 minutes against him, that deserves major respect.

I've just started reading into MMA and getting into it. I'm no MMA master, but things you said above were just things that I would hear from some affliction tshirt wearing kid at the bar that orders jagerbombs all night.

fighting and t-shirts have as much to do with one another as baseball hats and hockey...

figthing out the lvl you would fight at would suck :P but to fight at the lvl these guys fight at would be awesome...

if i were to fight id prolly be able to get up to amature status... if i were to train 5-6 days per week(instead of just 2), eat properly etc etc i could prolly make it to the under card or get on tuf... lol but im far to lazy for that...

i do follow alot of MMA, no matter the organisation UFC, WEC, StrikeFARCE... lol... pride affliction and all the other now defunct organisations i still enjoy wathcing old fights...

as for a possible match up for anderson at LHW where he may move permantently... leaving his belt behind at MW... i think he should face off against tito....

it would be a good match up for both fighters... tito has good strikes and wicked gnp... his take downs were good too... as we saw silva against hendo a wrestler seems to have the best chance... even lutter was doing half decent before he got subbed...

while it seems that silvas "weak" point( and i say that losely ) would be his ground game he does have a bjj black belt and has used those skill numerous times... but... hendo was using wrestling to maintain positioning and use gnp to get the job done...

and tito is a gnp expert... a win for tito would do good for his carrer and a win for silva would move him up even further in the LHW ranks

I want to say that Silva would have Jardine for lunch but Jardine has such a weird style that Silva might not be able to time it and wave his face around like he does.

Very true, I despise the tapout-ness but, it's worse when people call MMA "stupid" because of people who wear such materials.

That's like calling hockey, or motorsport stupid because people are wearing certain brand of shirts etc. Sure they could look stupid, but that's their choice (to look like a douche). That doesn't mean the sport itself is represented by them.

As for Tito VS Silva, I don't think that's happening anytime soon...

Tito and Dana make this drama-fest but I believe it's for the hype to break tension. They are close friends and the added "tension" on camera seems to have worked in terms of getting Tito's name still recognizable on TV. I doubt if other fighters said the same as what Tito said about Dana, Dana wouldn't welcome them back with open hands and a top card match up.

Tito will have to prove himself to the fans on the upcoming card, and Silva will either get a rematch with hendo, or vacant his MW belt and move up to LHW, which will lead to guaranteed ticket sellers. I woudln't want to watch Silva fight Tito yet, he needs to prove himself again. I could see Silva vs Jardine or another ex-LHW champ card come up soon. Fans would want to see if Silva can carry on that "wipe out" he did with MW.

Henderson did beat Silva in ONE round in UFC, and the only round which Silva lost in, so your theory does make sense. People were betting on Griffin on this past card that he'd do the same, but with more weight/force. Silva completely avoided that and just toyed with Griffin. I think, if Griffin could take Silva down for GnP, he could have stood a chance. Trying to stand up with Silva was his mistake IMHO.

102 doesn't look too intriguing, i'll just catch it on MMOTKO.

oh, to remind ourselves how crazy the "spider" is: Deadly accurate.

tito and dana are not friends at all... dana dispises tito... but dana loves money and tito can draw a crowd... be it to see him lose badly or win barely... lol...

part of the reason i say throw tito to the spider, is because jardine would not make a good fight for silva... jardine has a punchers chance, where he needs a wrestling stance... lol, tito on the other hand does have great wrestling and gnp... now if rashad or evans was available id say give it to them and let tito fight jardine... lol...

hendo, from all reports... is the next person to fight silva for the belt... if silva wins i bet you he gives up his belt... if he loses he moves on to LHW...

if silva gives up the belt before... then i say hendo fights the winner of maia/marquart for the belt
