LoL, I was wondering if you were going somewhere with your jailbait motivators.

Anyways, that girl in pic #1 looks pretty hot but also messed up in the head. Or stoned.

Good try but unfortunately I've found some new information from a known BMW insiders about how parts of the Vision could be carried over into new production models. A last ditch effort to save this from becoming another jailbait thread.

The three cylinder turbo diesel is in very fact a reality coming to the F20 BMW 1er , Three Cylinder in both Petrol and Diesel , Turbo charged of course. But our playing card for the Active Hybrid 1 will be something similar again three cylinder turbo diesel connected to an electric motor. And available a few months after the initial debut of the F20. That is how far BMW are ahead.

As for other areas? Well the design is a hybrid of what is coming in future design trends for BMW. For instance the front of the car is highly reminiscient of the next generation 6er although with conventional shaped light units but the grille is almost identical , wide and stretching across the car.

The shape of the bonnet which is raised over the front wheel arches will be seen in the Z2 Roadster and Coupe as will a shape similar to the rear light unit of the VED. Concept although the lights will not be razor thin but more proportionate to the compactness of the car. And although they will not sit on the rear deck like the Concept they are pushed into the body work as if it was made of butter.

The shape itself if you shrink it down is highly identical to the previous unseen Z technik concept which is the predecessor to the Z2 Coupe. The interior and door cappings are conceptized from the 6er and the four up seating gives a clue to the 6er GT in terms of layout and space and that console that seperates the driver and the three passengers. If you look down from above , especially the rear deck where it splits if you imagine that as complete joined you will get an impression again of the Z2 it will have a typical BMW Z4 Coupe like rear window . The wheels although covered to assist with aerodynamics , if you remove the black covers you see a real sporty wheel for the next 6er it's a bit like a shuriken (throwing star for non-ninja members) But we will offer the aerodynamic wheels as an optional choice.

The technology and materials are not far off away. Closer than you think.
M Division will be the first to use aluminium chassis as well to really bring the weight down on our more core M models and of course our future "Compact" models as well as more emphasis on carbon fibre body panels.
Looks like the meaningful discussion was only held off for 16 hours and 5 minutes

So this "SCOTT26" is an employee at BMW?

            From E90post, that is.

            What he said sounds right.

Yea he is, according to what he, and everyone else seems to be saying.

I'm really not sure why I bother posting all this stuff if you're just reading it from the same source I am :P

Meh, even if I didn't read all of that I assumed the same thing. It's no producton bound car, features translate to later models, blah, blah. I don't think I agree with where BMW is headed with this.

So this concept is BMW's interpretation of the sports car of the future, yeah?

Even the Hommage concept designed a while ago was more realistic..that is what I would have wanted to be produced. Not this ugly insect.

BMW has always been a forward-thinking company, but I don't know about this.

I'm also starting to question the entire premise of the car - are the people that buy sports cars worried about fuel economy and low emissons?

M3's are arguably the best all-round sports cars out there. They sell very well as it is. Will adding all of this unfamiliar tech to the car move them off dealership showrooms faster?

I'd say save this tech for cars lower on the hierarchy. People who buy compact cars are looking for the qualities in this concept, not people who buy sports car. No sense in putting the two together when you can't profit from it.

...and round we come full circle back to the 323d Efficient Dynamics.

Haha, that's right. So I suppose this concept was just a design exercise after all..to prove that they can still design cars that break the mould.

The most exciting product from BMW I'm looking forward to is the F10 M5.
Gotta reclaim the ring time from that pesky CTS-V.

The CTS-V beat the E60 M5 in a comparison a few months ago, but the CTS-V was at an advantage because they were comparing the improved second gen.(MY09-) CTS-V to the E60 which debuted in 05' and remains essentially the same. If they had compared the 05' first gen. CTS-V and E60 M5, the M5 would have won by a considerable margin.
I do hope the F10 M5 blows every other uber sedan out of the water to retake it's rightful place at the top of the sport sedan food chain.

When I was at the Nurburgring in July I had the opportunity to see the M5 test mule go round the track. It was pretty neat to see prototypes running round at tremendous speeds. Of course I didn't know what I was looking at at the time but it was still cool none-the-less. What engine is the new M5 getting, a twin turbo V10? if I remember right.

Also got to see the 5er GT at the same place and time. That I did recognize.

Details are still sketchy and may change as the car is not due for a few years.

There's a lot of talk on the internet, it can be hard to single out the solid info.

"The drivetrain of the F10 BMW M5 will feature a similar KERS system as the one found in the Formula 1 monoposts which will offer fuel savings technologies as well the ability to shut down cylinders while city driving. The KERS will also feature a boost button imported from the F1 cars that will allow the driver to unleash all the energy stored up.
Even though BMW was looking forward to be the first auto manufacturer to feature the kinetic energy recovery syste(KERS) in road cars, Ferrari will most likely be the one to launch a similar system first.
As expected and announced by us several times before, the new V8 twin-scroll turbo engine from the X5M/X6M models is being considered for the new M5, but…..here comes the intrigue part, BMW is also evaluating an experimental V10 turbo engine based on the V8 with two extra cylinders added.

Obviously the ability to turn automatically turn off individual cylinders will make the new M5 even more efficient than the current model and it will also align with the company’s efforts to promote their fuel savings technologies.
Two gearboxes are being considered, an updated 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DCT) or a more advanced 8-speed SMG."

                          This sounds feasible.

"According to Carscoop sources, BMW's engineers will ditch the current model's 5.0-liter V10 and replace it with a tweaked version of the more powerful, yet lighter, twin-turbo V8 that was introduced on the X5M and X6M crossovers.

In those two models, the compact 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 makes 555 horsepower at 6,000 rpm and 680Nm or 501-lbs/ft of peak torque available from 1,500 to 5,650 rpm. In the M5, the turbocharged V8 could flirt closer to the 600 horsepower barrier."

It could go in a lot of directions. I could care less how it happens, as long as it wipes out everything else in it's segment..E-class AMG, RS6, CTS-V, etc.
