  • Do you Remember Michael Bryant? our former AG

former Ontario AG who had a bone to pick wiht modded cars? his views were somewhat like modded cars are basically loaded weapons ready to kill?

who has the loaded weapon now? wonder if his car was modded... karma? maybe for hiding the fact that the couple up north was drunk when they got hit by that civic during the holidays that helped push his anti modded car agenda across the GTA?

    http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/article/689220

Edit here is a refresher on what he use to say as AG of ontario...

"Cars adapted for street racing can be seized and destroyed, even if charges haven't been laid and a race has not taken place, Ontario Attorney General Michael Bryant said Wednesday.

Bryant warned potential racers that all it takes is a tip from police to seize and destroy their cars. Car junkies who pour thousands of dollars into their vehicles to make them as fast as possible are wasting their money, Bryant said.

"If we can establish someone has parts and they're juicing up their car — obviously for the purpose of street racing — then we can seize those vehicles," Bryant said.

"We will seize it and you will never see it again. We will crush your car, we will crush the parts."

Bryant said cars built for street racing are as dangerous as explosives, and can cause catastrophic damage.

On Monday, a truck driver was killed after a crash on Highway 400 that was blamed on speed and dangerous driving.

Prabhjit Multani, 20, and Nauman Nusrat, 19, face charges including dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, criminal negligence causing death and criminal negligence causing death by street racing.

Ravi Badhwar, also 20, has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

'A senseless act': Fantino says of crash
"This was a senseless act that cost a man his life and has left his family without a father, brother and grandfather," Julian Fantino, Ontario Provincial Police commissioner, said in a release.

"There is no excuse for street racing and aggressive driving, such as the high speeds and unsafe lane changes we have seen recently."

The crash was the third major accident in four days on the busy north-south highway, and the second fatal one.

Bryant said the government has had enough of street racers, and will have no qualms about destroying their cars.

"We don't need to wait until that car hits the road fully loaded," he said.

Bryant also said the Crown has not yet decided whether to appeal the sentences of two young Toronto men who pleaded guilty to dangerous driving causing death after a taxi driver was killed in a crash.

Wang-Piao Dumani Ross and Alexander Ryazanov, both 20, were each handed two-year conditional sentences and two years of probation for their role in the January 2006 crash.

Their lawyers said they weren't racing, although their speeding did constitute dangerous driving.

So he commited vehicular manslaughter with his car, and he`s saying we`re the ones that are dangerous with modded cars?

Sorry to be stupid but the only reason I can think of to drive on the other side of the road to try to knock something off your car that is hanging on is when its a ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE !

I think this clearly proves that it's not the mods done to your car that make it dangerous... it's definately the moron behind the wheel

                        BUT HEY GUYS *note sarcasm*
in the last 5 years. over THREE PEOPLE have been killed by streetracers. streetracers are SO DANGEROUS
                        *end sarcasm*
In one night, more people die in the hospital due to other various diseases or whatever. Shouldn't they be putting their focus on stopping those deaths, than the (God forbid) THREE WHOLE DEATHS caused by streetracing in five years.
but on a more serious note.. didn't some old woman plow down like 7 people in front of a coffee shop? *insert sarcasm* That bitch must have had nitrous, and turbos, and EVERYTHING to mow down that many people *end sarcasm*
                        who's dangerous now?

i just find it ironic the guy who ranted about how much modded cars kill, and he goes and kills some one in his stock "saab convertible"

maybe he was street racing the cyclist... and was losing and decided to plow him over?

What makes me angry is that in Ontario, politicians like this guy, and the police (Fantino) build up a huge "problem" with street racers that doesn't really exist, or at least is not an urgent issue. They do it primarily in the media basically because street racing is glamorous, and easy to sell.
And why would they want to fabricate situations that barely exist to begin with?
                              MONEY.

And while these politicians and police are busy increasing public support on useless issues so they can get more funding from the Government to catch street racers, what is happening? Innocent people are dying on Toronto's streets. What are the police doing? Not much it seems.
57 people died in firearm homicides in 2007. How many stories have we heard in Toronto in the past 5 years of innocent people being gunned down by rampant gangs?
Is there a huge push to remove guns from the streets like they are doing for street racing? No.
Clearly everything is about politics and nothing is about public safety.

Back on topic, it looks like he has been charged with criminal negligence causing death.
                              Bye bye Premier position!
