alternators cost a fortune for new or rebuilt. Go with used as they are the cheapest. It was the same with my Accord as well, the alternator went and I spent a fortune replacing it. No choice there.

A bolt for $100 and a timing gear for $1000 is a crime.
Were the prices quoted in Yen? maybe it was 100 yen and 1,000 yen?

Never buy domestic. Parts might be cheaper but you will fix things on a more regular basis and the dealers here are just plain stupid and charge you a million to fix it.

Domestic= Garbage that is cheap to buy parts for and expensive labour
JDM= expensive parts, labour is average and the parts will actually last.

I hope you find what your looking for. As i do believe i need a alternator as well!
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Not buying domestic is what ruins the north american economy isn't it? Not going there though. I like my skylines and Toyotas but all 3 big NA companies make cars that are fast now..

^ yeah, the quote goes on the stereotype that american car manufacturers use high displacement engines for power instead of the use of turbo chargers etc.

alternator rebuilds rarely cost more than $75. I think I paid like $67 to have mine rebuilt a year or two ago.

yeah, for my supposedly "working" alternator that I bought, I was quoted $200:00 for a rebuild to make it like new again (replace everything the needs to be replaced). I definitely got it cheap enough though !
