  • H1N1.. who else here is unlucky enough to have gotten it?

Yep I got it. Nasty bugger too, Felt fine 10:30am(just tired) yesterday and by 12:30pm I had to leave work as I was unable to function and was shivering like it was -30c and I was in a t-shirt.

Haven't really slept for 3 days and am alternating between IBprofin and Tylenol to keep fever down.

So, who else here is having such fun?

My little brother (12) had it.
Everyone I know has been sick with colds/flus and I have managed to keep it away... and I plan on keeping it up!

    Sorry to hear you're sick.

Been tagged, nasty bug. Took a good 9 days just to start feeling well enough to function, the speed of the onset was what shocked me, was literally within hours of feeling a scratch in the back of my throat.

overload your system with anti oxidants vit C E etc will help cleanse you faster.

vitamin D is what you need to take.. it does a better job of moderating your immune system than vitamin C does...

i know of a few people who have had it... and the ones who took the vitamin D recovered faster and were not nearly that sick...
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?

Vitamin D is not an antioxidant while both C and E are. Both have benefits and merit, I'm not going to give medical advice on a forum However if you think you have H1N1 seek the advice of your family doctor.

            OR

            just take them all!

every time I get sick I overload on hot peppers, multivitamins and etc and it seems to work amazingly.

Vitamin B also gives you enough energy to function when you're sick.

just overload on the whole lot. Your body needs all the help it can get when you're sick.

I had a nasty flu, not sure if it was h1n1. Horrible shivers and fever it took me about a week and a half to get back to normal.

Yea it's pretty harsh. So far I've found out if I take 400mg IBprofin I'm good for about 6-8 hours before the fever comes back as opposed to 4 hours with 2x Tylenol flu caps. Also Sudafed is safe to take as long as it only contains pseudoephedrine.

Helps to have a mom who works at a clinic with direct access to doctors.

When I need some decongestant I go pick up straight Ephedrine HCL, more often than not you don't need the ibuprofen or acetaminophen as well. Get 50 Ephedrine HCL pills for 8 bucks, then life brand Ibuprofen (life brand I find has less "time release" so it works faster) for cheap.. and you have home-brew Sudafed for a fraction of the cost, and then you can adjust each ingredient as you see fit.

(I broke my nose a while back and now have a deviated septum, which gives me really bad congestion issues... the pure Ephedrine HCL is the only stuff that works for it)

I'm pretty sure I had it in the spring... usually I'm down 24hrs when I'm sick but this time I had fever for 3 days and it took me over 8days to get over it.

I wish I had already had it. I figure I'll likely get it (being a student who takes public transit a couple times a week), so it would be nice to have it... I dunno, before finals set in hahaha
