If someone is actually depressed, they are NEVER happy. Trust me I had a friend who was diagnosed with depression. No matter what you did he was always grumpy and annoying. If this chick was smiling and looked happy in here photos (a picture is worth a 1000 words) then she was not depressed. Sure she may have been "down" a few days but not depressed.
I'd like to see where you're getting this information. Having had family members that suffered from severe depression I understand where she's coming from.
Basising an opinion off of an article let alone pictures you are only getting 1/4 of the story if you're lucky.
IF she is cheating the system, fine take her benefits away. However, IF she suffers from severe depression it is no laughing matter. She needs help, and from the sounds of it she's trying to get it.
Clinical depression is indeed absolutely devastating! If not for some intermittent heavy medication,I would not be here now (several times).I'm still on medication. It's not something that a person gets depressed about,it's just the way their body functions. There are certain receptors in the brain that aren't functioning properly and most depression medication just makes the other receptors work harder.
I am not trying to vouch for this woman one way or another but people need to realize facebook is public and anyone can see unless you set the privacy settings. Even then photos your friends have taken could end up in the wrong hands.
I recall seeing a screen shot of a girls facebook page where she complained about her boss, how much of an a-hole he was, why he made her do certain jobs, and why he would just FO. Turned out she had added him to her profile a earlier, had forgotten about it, he seen it and fired her. Not sure how much farther it went but it just goes to show that people dont realize just how public facebook and even the internet in general really is.
I too agree that people cheating the system need to be dealt with, but this is ridiculous.
I've seen people scam WCB claims and such. That's bad news bears of course.
Depression is tricky because it is very difficult to diagnose her current state etc. I haven't personally been depressed but I have had family members who were. It sucks. Someone should have paid me for putting up with her **** TBH... lol.
I tried telling a depressed person to suck it up and get over it. Almost daily. I told her this **** happens to everyone, grow a set and get your **** together. That probably prolonged the process in the end... I was naive.
That being said, if she's scamming the system then burn her at the stake for all I care. Otherwise if you don't know otherwise, don't forget; you don't know otherwise.
EDIT: What do you think a doctor prescribes other than meds when someone is depressed? You think they tell them to go out and have fun? To smile more? To not sweat the little things? Even go on vacation? Apparently the woman even told her insurer in advance that her doctor advised she get away from everything and relax. That's ultimately what happened with my family member, I had to get her away from everything she knew. She lives on a tiny Southern Gulf Island now and has never been happier.

I too, hate the leechers on the system. Here I am, working a legit job 9-5 everyday and I don't get extended medical. When I'm sick I have to deal with it, pay for the dentist, pay for my eye exams, pay for anything medical related that is beyond "basic care." I have to pay for my medical and here this woman is lucky enough to have an employer who gives her extended medical and she abuses the system.
**** her.
why is it that she can be down for a few days... but not be up for a few days?
the people i know who deal with depression have good and bad and ugly days... not every day is bad... but most of the time they are not happy, and smiling... then there are the people who are suffering from depression but are able to fake a smile... real diagnosed depression is not something you or anyone can fake...
to say that they are NEVER happy is a load of poop and you know it...
How many kids with A.D.D. does it take to screw in a light bulb?
Read this in the paper this morning. Had a good laugh about the "pictures of her having a good time at the chip n dales" while being on long term depression/disability lol. I'm happy my taxes are spent well or in this case, why life/disability insurance premiums go up.

People dont understand what depression is, i have a close family member with it and a past long term relationship with someone clinically depressed and it is not a fun ride... they cant explain it you dont understand it but you have to deal with it, work around it and support them... it's really hard and people knocking it or that dont understand and or dont care to learn more about it should zip it...
NismoS-tune in my experience clinically depressed people fake happiness to fit in and to try not to bring down the people around them they care about or the mood when with friends and family... my ex did it all day at work everyday then when she came home she felt safe and comfortable to be herself which was like a disconnected sad lonely tired kinda person... it seemed to me like a day where your family all died in a car crash you lost your 8 year old pet your car got stolen and your the most hungover ever...everyday... different people may be different but thats my experience...

Insurance companies are billion dollar enterprises. They make oodles of money. They can afford to pay out, and lower premiums. Don't bitch at the people who actually USE the service we all pay for.
Everyone here laughs and rejoices when someone writes off their Skyline and gets $4g's more than what they paid for it. Then we're cool cause we're "sticking it to the man." No one goes "Aw man you douchebag.... That's my money paying for your retarded pay out." But guess what? It is.
If you're upset with your high premiums bitch at the company. The users who make claims pay the same premiums. If you're that pissed why do you have insurance? Save yourself the premiums since you're never going to claim it anyways right? Cause that would just make you a hypocrit.
