  • Is 2 Skylines just going too far?

To those who have more than one skyline:
Is it as awesome as I think it must be? Or will it just give me nightmares?
My plan has always been to finish my project gtst and then buy a muscle car as a second toy.
but now im seriously considering getting a second skyline-a stock gtr. a decent 10k one and dd it year round.

opinions from anybody? doesn't matter if you've got fewer than 2 skylines.
I've been brushing my teeth with jack but it's resulted in terrible amounts of tooth decay.

If you buy a GT-R as a daily driver, I don't think it will won't stay stock long, it's just not possible

ya daryls right man. once you get sick of just having that much power you will definately want more. If i were to have 2 i would have done it the other way around. I would have had the gts for my dd as you will be winter driving it and the gtr as my baby that would never touch snow!
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

i dont think a 10k gtr is a good idea a a daily driver, especially if your build another car along with it one thats in the 15-20k range will give you far less headache in the long run i am sure of it!

i know i've done this the wrong way around, but i got my gtst last christmas and i've formed an emotional bond with it. i wouldn't dare let it touch snow as a dd. i'm throwing alot of power into it anyway, it wont be slow!
if i get a mediocre looking gtr i think i could use it as a dd car the way normal people do lol. besides, i couldnt afford to build a gtr too, theyre too darn expensive!

That's normal to own more than one Skyline, if you have the money.

One dude I know of owns a 1000awhp R32GTR dragcar and R32GTR street / trackday car as his daily driver.

Then there's really Skyline crazy, as there's a family down in NZ that owns or has owned quite a few R32-R34 GTR's, GTS-T's, GTS-4, etc, including this fully modified 1000hp+ at engine R34GTR ex demo car from Japan -

It's supposedly owned by one of the daughters of the father that's in the videoclip above. At least that's what the magazine article says -

The father, shown in above videoclip, owns this 10 sec R34GTR -

One of the son's? R32GTR (supposedly has 14 Skylines in backyard) -

There's a 260RS Stagea, etc, owned by other family members.

I would love to have another skyline... but I would much rather have a nice VIP style Cima or President in black as my DD.

If I bought a second skyline as a dd/winter car...i would most likely end up decking that out cause I couldnt bare seeing a skyline in harsh weather, and have to buy another wd lol.

my plan as of right now consists of the best kept GTR this side of Japan and an HNR32/another BNR32 for a summer DD. Id like to pick up either a late '80s Toyota pickup or a shortbus for a winter car/car hauler haha

Wouldn't you love to have two different cars? Like, spread your love against two cars? I would like to have a GTR as a project, and a classy daily (like a 4 dr Merc or Bimmer). But then I realize that I'm A GUY and I like to camp... and ride motocross bikes.... and go 4x4'ing... and snowboarding... etc. And I can't justify adding a truck to that list and having three! haha So I figure I'll get a comfortable truck/suv instead.

I wouldn't buy a second Skyline. I don't understand why people do to be honest. But that's just my opinion. I guess if that's the only car that gives you wet dreams like Oakville then sure... go for it.

^ some people just are drawn to certain cars. Im sure you wouldn't want to own a Minivan, let alone two. But tons of people do it. I think if I actually had the money to pick up another vehicle, I'd buy something fast and impractical. Yamaha R6, track car, or VIP car like i mentioned, but slammed! I'm too drawn to impractical yet fun cars.
