Garage Heaters

Lets talk about heaters.

I need something better for my garage. I'm not getting any 220V specail heater. Lets talk about the different styles of 110V heaters. Ceramic ambient, ceramic w/ fan, infrared etc.

What do you use and how well does it work?

Recently I've just used 2 regular household small heaters and left them on for an hour in the garage before going in. Seemed to work OK.. but I would like something that heats a bit better.

I need to get a heater. I want to get one for the garage where my skyline is just so it can stay warm. And so I can look at it in Warmth lol

Any reasonably priced one that will heat up a 15x15x15 car up nicely would be good

you would be more set for something like a 220V garage heater with a thermostat. I'm looking for something to keep it warm only when I'm in there...

Thats pretty cheap as well. If i recommend anything to my dad he will be like "you don't need it, the car will be fine"

Although that is true, this car has only been in a heated garage and I would just feel better if I had a heater

I use a 30,000btu furnace in my garage. Hung from the ceiling, natural gas and electronic ignition (no pilot light). Keeps my garage at 12 degrees without running too often

I have used a dual carbon element 120V heater but it doesn't heat big garages well and ends up costing more than a furnace over 4 years.

this is my setup,

i got 3 of theses, that keep the garage at a steady 9deg



and then when i go work in the garage, i turn this on, set it at 19deg and within 5 minutes i can work without a coat on and be comfortable

Dang, i need to invest in one or two of those things....and maybe weather-strip my garage door, a garage from 1918 isn't very sealed.... and my mom insists on having a heritage house

lol i work on my car in an old barn at the farm with a big furnace that the pilot light seems to go out., also dosent help that my dumb ass got to close with the tractor and poked the mover through the doors, gives me a nice cool breeze lol.
much better than working on my car in below 0 though!

I bought two of those small ceramic heaters on the way home from work today. They worked quite nice and warmed the garage up very well. I was in a t-shirt most of the time..

for $15.94/ea I won't complain.

When I get around to putting in a 220V outlet I'll get one of those garage heater badboys...

Well then i'd be without a glorified nanny...and the other option would cost hundreds of thousands.....I think i'll just insulate the garage better and buy a $70 heater

The propane heater from canadian tire works well... But you gotta keep a window open. The propane gets me super hi lol probably not such a good thing. I turn it on for 20 minutes then go in and turn it off while im working. Definitly not cozy warm but it breaks the cold...

We went with a regular old house furnace in the car hold. Cost a fair bit to get the line run out to the garage but I think it is money well spent. Now we can have a green house off our garage. Hello water melon and other various goodies.

have one of these in my house garage... 40'X30' 3 car garage, takes 5 mins to turn it into a sauna with this thing.

can pick them for 500ish new and 200 ish used from kijiji




what heats my work shop... 1800 sqft in less than 2 minutes... love it
