im not saying you cant get one quick, just not as impressed as what they are all made out to be in the end,
The nature of torque is that it will start to drop after 5250 rpm, doesn't matter what engine you are running... and after that torque doesn't matter as much as power.

I always loved rotary engines! Had an old FB with a 12A and it was nice. But I really enjoyed the FD, and in stock form is pretty fast and exciting! She sounds really good too and I was able to keep up with a friends R33 GT-R V-spec no problem! And I have to admit, driving an FD is actually more fun than a GT-R!

I like rotaries as well. I had a 2005 RX8 all kitted out. I put 95,000km on it daily driving it by the time I got rid of it in 2008. I handled and braked amazingly well. Yes the power was a bit short, but you could always get through corners with more speed than other people so that helped even it out. I ran with Mazdaspeed brakes, mazdaspeed coilovers, adjustable sways, full exhaust, titanium pullies, racing beat intake and ignition. It was a quick little thing but did only make about 190WHP

That was fun !! I think I'll try being wrong with Subarus next .

I rather like RX 7's (since they were first introduced) but one has never fallen out of the sky into my clutches ( as most things do ) .

Whats the difference between a regular RX and an Infini? ( spelling might be wrong there )

RX-8's are like the 4 door Dodge Charger..doesn't matter how good it goes,it just doesn't work.

Love to go for a rip in a mechanically pimped RX 7- hopefully at CSCS Cayuga when we're bringing out a wide variety of strange and wonderful things to drag/time attack/and lap (poorly).

                          So,what about those crappy Subys?

It's extremely easy to do timing belts on subarus. Therefore I like them. An they sound really sick. And I drove a rally Subaru. That was fun as ****. I want a Subaru

If you want to see what a RX7 is capable off, watch RX7 vs R35GTR in this videoclip -

Power to weight favours the RX7 and downforce via rear wing, etc. That's it's advantage. Cornering speed doesn't seem to be much better than a stockish looking R35GTR with more hp.
