  • What colors did you have for your wedding?

So Im engaged as of Christmas night, and I was wondering what colors some of your married folk had for weddings?

    my genious Idea was this::
    AND THIS

    aka this

My fiance is down with the color scheme but she just laughs at me because we both arent sure how we can pull of a real CF look on anything besides the invitations.
Basically every thing will look like black and green
such as a friends wedding below:

But if we do straight up black and green then Im a loser for copying his wedding. I really dont want to do that.

    Is it a no go?

dry carbon table covers, place mats, napkins! Thats one expensive wedding lol.

get a carbon top hat, and even get carbon rings.

            hahaha

Im thinking matching r888 wedding bands. lol

I think I can get something cheap that looks like carbon for napkin rings
I have seen such things also at mr Big and tall for cuff links
            so thats 2 CF additions

supguy has some fake carbon fibre cloth he wants to instal on his door cards
I need to ask him where he got it, but im assuming for table cloths that too much CF and lots of $$$

            hmm...

              congrats Jon!

CF eh, that will be pricey mmm. I have an idea for a necktie for guests. Neffywrap and hire seamstresses.

it's fairly cheap compared to other wedding cloth materials. I think table cloths will be a bit too much. Overdoing CF never worked, do accent pieces like hats, ties, bands, what not.

As for rings you could get her a Diamond (girls would take Diamond over CF anyday) and you can get some CF? Both are exquisite forms of carbon yet completely different.

Ok i was joking about rings.
But i am probably going with a brush white gold with a polished strip or something like that
or a light grey ring. if not im going straight up yellow gold
                  She wants yellow gold too.

neffy wrap hey? I just checked it
it seems useful for some decorations.
as far as seamstresses.. thats a lot of $$$
Im not sure if we are that balling.

                  hmmm....?

Honestly, a CF ring is a bit childish for something as significant as a wedding ring. It will just collect grime and probably won't last. (what the ring is supposed to represent)

White/yellow gold is good. It can never be over played.

Not that I mean to poke fun at you or your friends wedding, this is just my opinion so take it as no more than that. I wouldn't go for a real bright color like lime green as something you or the wedding party wears. Looking at the pictures the green vests seem kinda high school grad/prom ish, where all they dudes vests match girls dresses (my grad tux looked pretty dorky so we wont bring that into this ). When you look at your wedding pictures 20 years from now a black bow tie will never look silly.

Still classy, all these years later

                          Oh and congrats!

                            Congrats!
For what it's worth, I have zero recall of what our wedding colors were, but I'm still married to the the same sweet girl 20 yrs later, and couldn't be happier.
+1 for classic on the rings. Wedding colors can be trendier 'cause the day comes and then it's gone. Get your wife something classy and timeless for a wedding gift.

                              Congrats!
                              my 2 cents:
I agree completely with Velders, a bright color just seems to much. The carbon accent would look very nice I think, sounds like a great idea! As for a color to go with it, maybe a darker or more classy color should go with it, or even a colored carbon. (red?)

                              like that kinda carbon maybe?
or just like a darker maroon color to go with it..
you have LOTS of play with the color of choice since your going with basically black.
IMO. classy colors will always make your wedding look amazing no matter how many years later you look back at it... that is over flashy colors.
