  • Sunoco-NoMo.... (No more)

Yeppers, Suncor a few weeks ago has announced (internal announcement at the time) that it is selling 100 Sunoco sites (the location and buildings) and converting the remaining sites to.... PETROCANADA stations!!!! Of course, the Sunoco owners/investors are pissed they had no say but Suncor owns them. The stocks will be sold and around 1000 jobs axed.

Anyways, this only really applies to Ontario folks (pretty odd an Alberta owned oilsands company only sells fuel in Ontario?) where Sunoco are located.

Sunoco is suing Suncor for 200 million lol. I bet, if they win, they'll be sticking around? Too bad suncor is a massive oil giant that have better lawers. haha.

    By The Canadian Press

TORONTO - Sunoco retailers are suing Suncor Energy Inc. (TSX: SU.TO) over the Calgary-based company's plans to sell or rebrand their gasoline service stations.

The retailers assert that Suncor's plan to sell or rebrand about 300 Sunoco locations has violated an Ontario law governing franchise agreements.

The Sunoco franchise operators claim they're entitled to compensation.

Suncor hasn't commented publicly on the suit.

Last week, Suncor announced it will cut about 1,000 employees from its workforce as it sells some of its natural gas and international assets.

That's on top of 1,000 head office jobs cut last August following Suncor's takeover of Petro-Canada.

No more 94 Octane in Ontario?

Yeah Snow shell 94 would be great.

In Calgary it's hard to find 94. I think 92 is the most common

hmm is this any relation to removing 92 octanes on most Chevron stations?

Now Chevrons only sells 87 89 91 94 just like Petro Canada

The word is that Sunoco is no more come April. 100 or so store locations will be sold to whoever and the remaining will be relabeled to Petro Canada.

I get to hear this about stuff like this frequently as it's a major part of where I live... Here's a funny one: I work for Syncrude who has been managed by oil giant Exxon Mobile for the last 3 years. Petro Can is a large share holder at Syncrude so when suncor and petro Canada merged last year, that meant that Suncor now owned shares of a competition company lol. Anyways, I wouldn't worry too much about the change as petro is still a good company but you do lose the 94. I don't think Petro can has 94. Maybe 92?

the sunoco that i used to goto in mississauga (very few exist) just got torn down for a petro. i saw a new sign that said "ultra 94" will be available. whether or not its the same as sunoco's 94 is yet to be seen.

this is ridicilous. i have to drive to the far end of the city to find a sunoco station.

Sunoco has done the same down in the states as well some years ago. Shame about it really since they carry a popular fuel blend.
