Iphone 3GS on the fritz

I jailbroke my friends iphone that was locked to orange (Big carrier in france). I used the program blackrain on the firmware 3.1.2, which is the exact same as mine, and i have not had one issue with it since I got it nearly 6 months ago. Well, my friend called me up saying the screen just flashes white and black while emitting the voice control tone. I said to plug it into her macbook and just do a restore on it; however, itunes wont recognize the phone...
What should my next step be? Time is of the essence on this one lol

looks like you got yourself into quite the situation. Is there a factory reset on the phone? I know there is one on the ipod maybe try that if there is one.

Might have to pull the battery if you can't get it to reset.
there are lots of instructions on how to do that online. I've opened mine twice with no issues.

uuhhhgggg. I was hoping there would be a much simpler way of dealing with it then cracking it open..
Isn't there a way to bring open a window and force a restart to that "USB device"? Or is the only time a windows based computer would be of any help? :P

Update: Let the phone drain its self of battery life, then let it sit for 24 hours. Seemed to do the trick

whoever says the iphone is **** has issues..... the phone was cracked in this situation which has nothing to do with the phone.... if the iphone is soo terrable why is it the most wanted phone on the market? there are lots of good phones on the market but in the end the iphone still rains superior....

they are a Fashion Accessories.. People dont buy Apple products because they are the best device that does the required function.. People buy Apples products because its the cool, hip thing to own. Goes with there Man Purse, and Male Skinny Jeans.. LoL

The Iphone does what it does and works fine.. however everything that i want, my google Andriod Phone can do.. Andriod OS will surpass Iphone as the Number 1 installed phone OS in a few years..

I have no hate for the iPhone i just would never use it.. or any other apple product..

Actually Apple Macs are used in design, movies, etc, as they are reliable, don't slow down (unless you through the biggest of the biggest task at them), don't crash operating system as easily as PC (important when your on a deadline), etc. Apple Macs use the fastest processors available for a desktop and you pay for that. PC setup cost similar with similar processor, etc, but don't look as good (project a modern image that design, etc busineess want to show) and getting the correct components to work together is timing consuming, expensive (trying out parts like motherboard, ram, videocard, etc).

I've worked with both in the past and like Macs more.

Well when it comes to actual Computers since everything use the same hardware it doesnt matter.. Windows or OSX, they both can run on whatever you want..

I have worked/Do work with both.. PC (Windows) Macs(OSX) PC (Windows) does what i need the fastest and cheapest.. so thats a win.. Mac (OSX) doesnt do what i want to do as easy..

I have the new OSX installed on my PC but really no reason to use it..

Different ways you do things on PC, Mac. Keys on keyboard are one area, way you burn CD, DVD in software is another, etc.

Speed of ECU or ECU's if your doing heavy work, amount of RAM you use, etc makes a difference. Mac OSX boots up in no time at all on the top spec Mac, quickest I've seen. I think was 20sec or so last time I timed a high end Mac booting up.

I think Apple makes quality products. I've compared my Crackberry with a friends iphone and his seems to run much smoother than mine without as many problems, but we both agree the blackberry is a much better design. On the other hand I own the top of the line macbook pro and I cannot be happier with it, the same cannot be said for the people i know with the highest end vaio's or likewise.

I agree apple has a fashion following behind it, but I think its rather ignorant of one to amalgamate everyone with an apple product into a group driven by materialism. I personally like the Mac platform better, others don't. But I don't think that is going to alter any of your views.
