wow, as frankiman said, shows how fast these things can happen. I saw a Miata flip at Suzuka (right in front of me) but it only flipped onto the roof in the sand area, no rolling.
If i had a convertible it's have a roll cage for sure, even if it was just for the street.
I can imagine exactly what the driver was thinking...

most tracks require that all convertible cars going on tracks absolutely have to have a rollcage/rollbar installed, often dismissing oem roll-hoops
