  • The big dirty diesel thread.

Well in light of me buying my new truck today I thought I would post up a thread I see by some people's signatures that a few of you have some diesel torque well post it up. Even a work truck post it. Just a fan of big gnarly diesels post it!

    Mine 1990 Dodge ram 250
    Standard transmission
    224,000kms Original
    one owner since new
    oil sprayed every year
    Gold and brown paint scheme
needed nothing for safety and is crazy mint
straight 6 CUMMINS TURBO DIESEL WOOOOO!

Mine is sthe spitting image just brown.

and I plan once I start with the police if I get a northern post to buy a newer 2500 crew cab short box and load up the GTR and move up north with it.

    YuMMMMMM

And to everyone else I would rather be Cummin then Strokin!

No pics so far but I picked up a '99 F-250 Superduty with a 7.3 (2WD) back in january. Spent a few grand on repairs/maintainence so far as the previous owners really were in to the "deferred maintainence plan". 4 rotors, new pads all around, 2 calipers, 4 tires, every wear item in the entire suspension, new filters for everything, 8 glow plugs, 2 batteries, etc. Got mostly everything sorted now though aside from the noisy differential and the stereo.

It's a great truck though, pulls my 20b cosmo on my trailer (easily 6000lbs combined) like it's not even there. Got 315,000 miles (500,000km) on it but it still runs strong! Hopefully it lasts me several years to come.

I personally don't like gasoline engines with the exception of a performance car. Can't beat diesel for economy/torque and smoke of course

not after 2010. diesel's going clean with 0 soot according to California emission standards. Its us who spoil the party for those guys.

Over compensation like purchasing a vehicle not needed to boast self ego to make up for something lacking?

                      Hows the BMW running ?

Modern diesels are way cleaner than even 15 year old ones. I've never seen black smoke out the tailpipe of my truck yet.

My F250 is heavy and huge (7400lbs empty) yet still returns 20MPG cruising.
And when it's towing my skyline to the track this summer I'm sure I'll be pretty happy I've got it. It's a big step up from my old truck, 1979 Ford F-100 6cyl. My F250 has 4 times the horsepower and double the torque, while getting the same MPG.
