We had the harder job (physically and mentally) yet made less. I kind of like unions now after that one :P
Was this McDonalds or something along those lines lol? Not trying to insult you btw

Got layed off last spring and instead of giving me 2 weeks noticed they payed me 2 weeks severance pay. Most businesses will do this so they don't have a useless staff for the last 2 weeks of there term, which was fine with me since I got another job the same day and ended up with 2 pay checks lol

I took an offer for a management position with a larger paint manufacturer. They are willing to transfer me, and pay for my move back east, and benefits are sweet. Pay is alright for right out of school, but by no means something to write home about.

I kept my mouth shut, but I was supposed to hear about the other positions before tomorrow ends. However I feel better not pretending I'm there long term, feel better that I have somewhere to work when we either go back east (or even Portland, they will sponsor me to work in the states), and pay is on similar scales.

As well, I needed to keep reminding myself this is not the end-all be-all. I am only doing this for a few years before I start my own company later in life. I have a few ideas... One I'm actually working on now which means I could be leaving this job for my own thing really quick.

There is no loyalty on either side of the table. If a company decides to get rid of you for economic or performance issues there is no notice. They pack your **** in a box and escort you out. So why you are bent out of shape over a possible move in the future I don't know. No one plans around having the same job forever employers think the same way
