trav, just put a res on line on my exhaust, arc down pipe, 3" piping to the fujitsubo res which is closer to the back, some more piping, and then the kakimoto muffler. it's really not that loud but you still get the sweet sound of the inline 6!Originally posted by Paradis^^ hows not being rich going? ...haters be hatin

you could always get a high flow cat instead of a test pipe, though the test pipe route is cheaper (but way less environment friendly)
as for a straight pipe, or even loud aftermarket systems...you might like the sound, but not everyone else will. It's just asking for bad attention.

Throw the test pipe on and see how you like it. I have no resonator, just a rear muffler, and it wasn't too loud. Car does run smoother with the cat instead of a test pipe in my case, though. I guess the stock ecu doesn't like all that flow :P
Ok so I didnt actually read your last rebuttal...
But what's the verdict? Did you conceit defeat?Last edited by DreadedFist; 12-19-2010, 06:09 PM.

meh each to there own i guess, i have an exotic speed catback w/test pipe and 3' downpipe and its not loud at all.
i love doublejceballos straight pipe in his GTST, it sounds deep and mean down low and nice up top. if i could get my hands on a exhaust controller i'd run a straight pipe.Automotive photos from around the Pacific North West.

its funny, turboed08 had his gtr outside my house, running for about 3 minutes. in that time i had 3 people fairly close to me open the door and walk out, 2 of them giving me the hairy eyeball.Victory is on the horizon..

That's like getting an expensive phone bill, then just saying "Oh I didn't get this bill, this is not for me"
Well guess what champ, the bill is still due on the same day. You can't use denial of reality as a rebuttal, that's what closed minded people do.

Full exhaust is like going bare back w/ a chick. Sure it's awesome but sometimes you have a thought at the back of your head; you're worried about that possibility of "what if she forgot the pills." You could **** up and be in a world of responsibility and pain.
Wrap it up, it won't be the same but I guaranteed you it will still be better than your sweaty right hand palm.

Most tracks have db restricrions as well, so a straight pipe will net you pit-time strapping on a cat-back at the very least.
As for modding, it's personal preference. The whole "if you don't have money don't mod" logic is garbage. There are Civics out there that spent less money on their ****-box that will take the average GTR in a straight line. I have a co-worker with less money into his Civic than I have into my car and he's running low 12's and gunning for 11's.
I'd take the "cheap-tuner who does everything himself (twice)" designation over the "checkbook-tuner" designation any day.
And yes, I have a GTR bumper on my GTS and I wouldn't have it any other way.DISCLAIMER: If any of the above comments in this post hurt your feelings you are likely taking me too seriously; I'm probably just busting your balls.
