Only if I sell my Vette. My T/A is worth about 3k. If I sold it, I would stack another grand on top for a 4k budget.

However, if I do sell the Vette I'd have much more options. It would be perfect if I could sell both and buy one car that's practical and just as fun and quick.

Saw that the other day. I'd still have to get it inspected, registered, then I'd need a new clutch. Probably comes to a bit over 4k, which isn't bad..

I really need to sell the T/A. I've had a ridiculous number of tire kickers..just need it gone. Can't do much until one of my cars sells.

It'll sell sooner or later. It's strange. You'll be selling things forever, then all of a sudden, everything ups and goes.

You know you're on a skyline site, right? Why not an NA GTS? Good on gas, stylish, and still pretty quick. The RB20DE has what, 160-170 hp? They're super cheap too, cause most people would prefer a turbo skyline. Parts are plentiful and fairly cheap, an you're on the right site to find them!
Looking for cheap parts? supguyex (Jon) is parting out his car. Good prices, good guy.

Those eagle talon tsi's are sweet cars too..

Yeah, I have considered a Skyline. Haven't really thought about an N/A Skyline..but throw some ITB's on there and it would be a pretty sweet ride..

Either way, I have to get rid of the T/A first.

The Talon TSi gets great gas mileage on paper, but I don't really dig the look. I've also heard some horror stories about the 4G63. Any one have any input on this?

Uh I owned a '96 eclipse turbo (same car, but mistubishi and fwd.. I'm sure you knew that) and the thing just fell apart. Door handles break off, etc. It was crap. Felt cheap, too. Crankwalk is another story, though I never experienced it myself and nor has the owner of the past 2ish years. The other person with a DSM, a tsi, has had the car on the road like 10% of the year lol. Tranny problems out the ass (the problem with the AWD ones.. they have crap AWD lol) among a billion other things.

I'd pick an E30 bimmer if I were you (AWD if you can!). Doesn't sound like you've got bank enough to back any of these cars you've got listed and bimmers are at least reliable despite these ones being old, and you could probably get one cheap enough to have money left over. Nevermind cheap insurance etc... gas? could even go diesel (not sure if they had AWD diesels though).

That's a good idea..I'll have to look into E30s. Would make a fun winter car, and I'd have no reservations about beating it up. Wouldn't want a diesel though. That's the "fuel of Satan."

I have one serious offer for a trade that I'm considering. It will likely be a straight trade: my Trans Am project for a '95 Eagle Talon TSi. Test drove the car and it feels fine, although I don't know much about the cars. The head was replaced by the previous owner. Car is stock.

I've heard a lot of horror stories about crank walk, timing belt issues, etc. Any stories or advice for this car?

Sounds like a good trade, just drive it nice and keep it nearly stock and you shouldnt have issues.

dont mod it and you'll be fine

Yeah, I wouldn't mod it. Boost was upped a few pounds, I would lower it back down. It's an automatic car, so it's a bit less prone to crank walk..I'm gonna have a friend look at it. If it looks good, then I will likely take the trade.
