Ahh again, thwarted in my attempts to find a good deal on parts by yet another bullsh*ter..

If any of you kept up to date with my build, i was sold a Maxima maf in place of a Z32 maf for a pretty stiff price. Anyone would be upset with this, but we also take into some consideration that there is a level of trust in people selling sight-unseen; sometimes we benefit and sometimes we get it ramped up the butt - in my case it was ramped up the butt, but it hasnt stopped me from believing there ARE good people out there who actually sell what they're describing..

This leads me to my newest endeavour; the search for suspension;

My original plan was to buy new HSD HR's as i get a rather amazing deal through a member, but it wouldnt hurt to save just a FEW more bucks that could be dropped into something elsewhere..

My search has come to a set of Stance GR+'s that looked too good to be true, and 600$. Great suspension - 16 way adjustable, height and preload adjustment, and well valved. Also, stance owns HSD - another major plus IMO.

I inquire pic's and ask for reason of sale;
"Sold my previous GTS and bought a GTR - engine blew so now i need a new motor, this money is for my motor fund" .. pretty reasonable answer?

I get the pics.. they're FWD'ed from a previous/old email - the original owner (he's the second owner).. So these AREN'T current pics?

Hmm a bit leery i look more carefuly at the pics and notice the adjustment caps aren't on damper adjustment - i ask if they're available.. I receive the reply, "they're not, these coilovers arent adjustable".. now, knowing Stance has been around for quite a while and that all their coilovers are adjustable, also knowing that the GR+ are 16 way adjustable and the ONLY coilover available for the HCR, i become a bit unsure about the purchase - my self fulfilling prophecy is coming true..

So keeping interest, i keep proding on the question about whether or not they're adjustable and to simply test by turning the head (that the cap fits on) of the valve adjustment.. "It does turn"..

So now im utterly confused. Assuming the person had no idea what they were buying is probable, but is it sufficient to say someone buying a nice set of suspension would completely overlook this???..


My further research reveals this..
The car was NOT sold.. it was pwned.. and not long ago either..

Now.. this is what really peeves me off.. Had he just been honest and SAID from the start that he smoked the car into a pole, i would have been more than happy to graciously decline, but trying to wiggle out a buck by lying about it really cheeses me off..

What's up with the dishonesty in this place? lol Can we seriously not sell the described part, as-is, legitamately with no hooks, catches or bs..

Again these are my only 2 instances..

Oh.. except once this guy complained about his injectors leaking, then sold them to me.. after which i dug up his thread from the depths and called him out on it..

yea ive had some shitty luck myself.....bought a box of used parts, some pieces didnt make it, box was sealed no post office sneak peaking to remove it....all i got was "100% shipped that part" and never heard back.

I've had some bad luck with coilovers too. I bought a set of Zeal coilovers from what I thought was a reputable member, only to install them and find out that BOTH the fronts were leaking. The previous owner cleaned them up so they looked good before selling them. I contacted the seller after I realized they were both blown, and he offered to buy them back for HALF of what I paid. I know it's buyer beware, but I still think there should be some responsibility on the sellers part.

In all honesty, buying parts like gauges, seats, hoses, brake lines - pretty safe..
Used parts, you never know..

And parts that are priced too good to be true and lied about, well you just need to be smart about it i guess!

Absolutely, but like you stated, some people are just genuinely shifty and cannot be trusted.. it really leaves some sense of distrust among the community because what does that say about people? They just simply cannot be trusted to sell quality or as per-described parts.. it really blows.. We kind of rely on one another to be honest since its normally sight unseen.

i've also had bad luck with coilovers, a member on here sold me lowering springs instead on "coilovers" according to him they are adjustable he just needs to "research" how to do it..ahaha he's a joke..he couldnt admit that they were just lowering spring. I asked all the questions before i purchased said "coilovers" but apparently its ok to lie just to make a quick buck. Im not really a sh!t starter so i didn't bother making a thread..i focused on other important things..funny thing is that he is a known member here...anyways enjoy the money im not going to get you but karma will

Hey OP, I have some gts-t JIC magic coilovers I could sell you. They would be perfect track coilovers, non dampening adjustable so they ride a bit rough, but are separate preload and height adjustable. No leaks and what not, only a bit of paint flake. I will give them to you for $250+shipping OBO.

if you do lots of research and follow the rating system it can turn out great.

I got my HypermaxII from a member locally and they are much better than what he described. Great condition and price.

^ i did lots of research and his ratings were fine but i guess he decided to take advantage of a noob, and he said lots of things that were "great" about them but i got something different (lowering springs instead of adjustable coilovers. its like saying im selling work viennas in great condition, no scratches and super hella flush but when you send me the money i send you sportmax 002.
