  • Shipping larger items...?

Ok so I need to ship some larger items out and I'm having a hard time figuring out who to use and how to package it so that it won't be damaged. I'll give you an example... I need to ship a engine head to California but I don't want it to get damaged. I want this item to arrive safe and sound to the buyer so he can get on with his project. Anyways, who have you guys used in the past and what was your overall experience?
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Larger, heavier items, I would recommend a trucking company. Like HHR transport. It'll be cheaper than greyhound, They will p/u from your house, and deliver it. They generally want larger stuff shrink wrapped on a skid. Hope this was helpful
      Have a good one.
      Ian.

if you get creative you can really find some good deals. There are lots of companies shipping from Alberta to BC and returning empty. I once built a crate full of parts when I was in Japan. I then got Lays potato chips to bring it back to Lethbridge for me for $140. There must have been 3000lbs in that crate. Engines and wheels ect. Lots of those kind of places wont ship anything with oil so they dont need to declare any TDG. But if you call to inquire you never know what you can come up with. I know owens corning insulation has a factory in Edmonton just on Yellowhead HWY 16. They might bring empty trailers back to Edmotnon from Van??? I think Molson canadian has a factory too??? Places like that might be worth a call if you have lots of time on your hands to make some calls to inquire :P

That's the thing I have very minimal time on my hands. I work from10-16 hour days. The only reason I'm on gtrc all the time is because I'm on my phone on smoke breaks doing so
