need feedback on my video production intros

so i just ordered a new Canon T2i SLR cam that shoots 1080 hd vids
and next summer i'll be at every car related event shooting stuff and than making epic vids out of them

i've been editing videos for awhile now..
made an intro in 2005 for BuiltForSpeed studios,
but now since i'm going HD, and scrapped all the editing tables from that old intro,
i decided to remake one

i made 3 versions, took me a couple hours cuz i really didn't know what i wanted it to look like, and its 100% generated media, so imagination is key

i'd just like some feedback,
if i'm heading in the right direction, or spun out and going backwards

worst case, i'll try to exactly remake the first one and render it in HD

Personally, I think the whole constant revealing/concealing of the title is... I don't have any words... frustrating? It just feels tedious and like it won't end lol. I know they're only like 10sec long but backtracking doesn't seem to fit text well.
Would you try making the reveal/conceal animation bottom-to-top instead of left-to-right and let us see how it works out? I like how the v3's close animation looks though.

I really hate criticizing other peoples' work so just take this as another perspective to contribute to your ideas?

The last one is the most consistent with the revving and the best in my opinion. Rajin is right though, after looking at them a bit I think the idea is great to sync the title with the RPM but the problem is at Idle you only see "BUI" for a while.

Since I like where you're going with it, could I suggest putting some solid markers on each end? While in Idle you only see a blipping bar (akin to a digital RPM gauge) and when spooling to WOT the words BUILT FOR SPEED would come up quick. To balance it, redline could be another solid marker. Keep the same LED style for the markers and it would look golden.

well i just realiazed something by reading you guys,
its that i had the same though originally, that not seeing the whole word from the beginning what kinda bugging me,
so i put BuiltForSpeed ghosted in the background

when i watch the rendered mp4 file on my computer, i can totally see it,
but after uploading it to video, its gone,
i'll try to make it brighter

Looks good, but IMO the letter exposure should match the rpm.


I like the last one the best, showing the text in a ghost look. The red should show when the sound hits redline then drop down and shadow the sound.

Looks good so far, man! Agreed with M13. Just need to sync up revving/lighting a bit better and you're golden!

yeah like when the screamer is being open, it should stay at red, then taper off when revs go down.

Other than that, the ghost effect is WIN. previous versions were ok, but would be frustrating to some.

The second last one is spot on. Although you could make the RPM/SOUND matching a bit better, but the uniform sized letters and matching RPM looks sick!
