That's not a bad camera. 10 MP is damn nice, and Canon is a good brand. Just be sure to carry a few spare batteries, especially if you use the flash. Overall, not a bad camera, however!

eventually if you get into DSLR,, you'll learn that the DSLR body (d40, d200, d300, etc...) are all disposible,,, they have a shelf life... only so many actuations....
you invest money in your lenses... lenses will be interchangable from camera bodies to camera bodies...
I have a D300... you could pick up for under 1G
I have about $3,000 in lenses... which I will be able to use with any DSLR Body...

Here's how it went down:
Went to Sears early this morning to pick up a SX120 IS. They were sold out, so the sales guy offered my a Fujifilm Finepix S1800 which is actually a lot more than the SX - $230 before taxes. Fortunately, there was only one more in the back, so he gave it to me at clearance, just $110 after taxes. So I got myself a pretty nice superzoom for just over $100.
12.2 MP, 18X optical zoom, dual image stabilization, and it shoots quickly for a P&S.03 Infiniti G35 Coupe 5AT "Valerie"
