it funny to me at least since "america" isnt a country, its a continent... and the usa are just united states of america... so if anything they arent a country either... compariable to the USSR... andlook what happened over there...

as for the war of 1812, canada was not yet a country(1867) we were still just a mere british colony...

there is a BIG difference between my little sig joke and this commercial... also i had ADD as a kid which is why i use the joke...

with satryical shows like family guy and south park there are warnings, and you know what you are watching before you see it there wont be warnings for this commercial before it pops into hundreds of thousands peoples homes... as for " its attitudes like mine that are making it more difficult to make a crude joke without offending everyone" if you find it funny to make an ad about wars where thousands of people die, go crack jokes about them at your local legion and see what kind of response you get... downplaying it as 'just an ad' is a fundemental problem with todays society, and people wonder why there are so many wars going on and so much violence out in the world, getting the 'attention' in this maner is not good in my eyes... if they wanted to use pre modern wars for promotional use then they should have used there own civil wars, but even then its stil perpetuating and promoting violence which is exactly what we dont need... as the war of 1812 was started by the usa, and the canadian colony stayed on the defensive for 2 yrs before marching into the states and burned down washington and the whitehouse along with it, so if they are trying to depict 1812 then like true uh-mericans they are twisting the truth to suit there own ends
