We're all getting FUBAR. I just wish I'd have some sort of backup plan for when the **** hits the fan. How scary is it that people still vote by their "favorite color" or "family tradition"? Very.
ill be voting conservative. harpers doing well and I have no problems with what hes doing.
He's done little of what he said he'd do, most of what he does is orchestrated (scripted, along with those who appear with him) and the last thing we want is conservative with majority. He has been taking away from the health care system which is bad news.
NDP on the other hand have crazy ideas in regards to the oilsands which is a large portion of alberta's revenue.
Pick your poison I guess.
In the end, I still don't know what I will vote for. NPD as much as I'd hate to may be the better choice as it's doubtful they'll be able to do much about the oil market, other than to drive the prices higher.
No build thread.

Yeah I hear you. On a day to day basis, I am very content with what taxes I pay etc. Not a chance in hell Id ever vote liberal, but Layton is a good kid and has some solid points. Mind you, im not in the hospital all the time, so I rarely see how the health care side of things hits us.
As for voting Harper, I share similar beliefs with his tough on crime approach. With myself working towards a career in law enforcement, we're on the same page (while im not strictly out to "lock people up"). The rehabilitation model is very well suited for certain circumstances. But for the average 'gangbanger' in the GTA, they know what theyre getting into...
NDP has some good policies but voting ndp is a wasted vote because they dont ave a hope in hell of getting in , and i think its important to make sure we dont end up in a minority government again , Harper might tread on a few toes for the good of the county but the ony reason to vote liberal is if your on welfare !
I don't like Harper's 'police state' ideologies with the internet monitoring and his budget cuts in science. He's currenly censoring scientists like me and has caused outrage with high-ranking scientists by firing them or force them to resign when they were taking a stand on critical issues.
The problem is that people who are confortable are sticking with Harper because he's rubbing their backs by keeping the status quo (which is the definition of the conservative party). As for people like me, my worried about the decentralization of power and his questionable ethics when it comes to his party's expenses, morals and his personel's background.
Liberals aren't that much better, but for the love of god, at least keep Harper in minority by voting for his cousin party the NDP. Even if there's no way Layton gets elected, doing so will shift less power to the Liberals, and ensure Harper doesn't get majority. Basically it's going to stir the bottom of the barrel at the parliament and get some fresh blood at the top for when they duke out on issues.
Keep in mind, if Harper would have a majority govn, your internet access would be monitored with no need of a warrant to get to your personal information. They've been trying 4 times now and failed by less than 1-5% margin.
