Except the draft was banned in Canada. Last time it happened was WWII, and that was the LAST time it will ever happen. We don't do forced conscription here.

I trust that the Tories will continue to run the country right. I don't get why everyone is getting so worked up about it. CLEARLY the majority of Canadians feel that our liberty is safe with the Conservative party, or they would not have been elected to a majority gov't. We're doing far better than any other country in this recession, and I feel that we're going to continue to climb out of it successfully. Not everything's a conspiracy, and not everyone has a "hidden agenda". And honestly, if they DO go ahead and do something dumb, we vote them out in the next election. Terribly simple.

They may have brought things a little more out in the open, but they still try to cover it up, or even worse ignore any wrong doing in the first place, making the whole spectacle even more ridiculous. After all the whole reason why there was an election called was because the Conservatives were called out for being contempt of parliament, and of course Harper tried to blame it on the opposition not agreeing on the budget. Besides, the only reason stuff has been brought to the forefront in the past few years is because they only had a minority, with a majority there will be no one to keep them in check and all that BS they've fed us about being accountable and transparent will go out the window.

The Liberals were FAR worse with the backroom deals. The present-day Conservatives have brought everything into the open.

BUT WHO CARES! Political BS is FINALLY OVER! WOO!

I didn't expect the NDP to win, but like RHDSkyline said, I did not want a Conservative majority. I fear for what Canada may become as a result of this election, there is going to be major political divides surfacing and with a party that has a history of not listening and making back room deals in complete control things could very well get messy.

I hear ya, you should have seen all the old, crusty-ass gerriatrics at the polling station I went too. I came out and started pointing at people saying "big C, big C, big C"........lol. I think only 2 people got it and got bent out of shape.

    Old people piss me off.......

    K. Well im officially pissed.

I actually wanted Harper to be PM. But not in a majority government. I voted NDP only cause the had the best chance to be the opposition party. And harper with a minority government was livable. but a majority is scary.

I feel bad for the country

Personally, I'm going to go tell them that I'm NOT voting this election and tell them why.

One of the problem with government is they usually get a party that represent somewhat what
the population want. But what the population want and what it needs is not necessarily the same.
(Ex: I want a Ferrari, but need a family car.)

An other problem is debate, there is such a thing as pointless debate. You don't move forward
by always calling your opponent mistakes. You move forward by bringing up solution, debating
    opportunities.

If they would spend has much time doing actual work, has they do looking for ways to bring
each other down, this country would be in a much better position right now. They really need
to learn that the right decision is not necessarily the one that will make them look better.

I can't vote for a party that can't even come up with a complete comprehensive financially feasible plan.
(It's one thing to have a goal, it's an other thing to have a way to get there. And if you can't
come up with a way to get there. Well your either incompetent, unrealistic or both )

I would like to list other reason, but unfortunately It seam all the party are already eliminated.

Here's a bright idea, you know all those advertising about why not to vote for party, why don't
you advertise a web site where you would have a complete plan, expected revenue from where
and spending, with a list of amendment you would like to talk about. Pointing out key sectors
and what YOUR party would like to bring to the table. With 1 key thing, the option for us people
to give our opinion, yes our opinion. You might get a couple of trash talkers, you might get more
then you bargained for, but you know what, you might get some much needed solution too.

Debate and argument over both politics and religion is healthy and good for the brain.

It's the easiest way to learn things and debate separates believers and followers!
