  • Lets Talk Wiring Harnesses

    Hey Guys
Im posting this on behalf of Yury at Wiring Specialties. I have been speaking with him recently about the development of Pre-Made RB26 swap harnesses.

I am curious if anyone here thinks they might get use out of something like this (perhaps doing a RB26 to GTS swap).

At the same time, what do you guys think about straight replacement harnesses for your RB's?

The harnesses in our cars are minimum 15 years old. Wiring Specialties could supply straight RB20, RB25 and RB26 replacement harnesses, brand new, pre made.

If you have not heard of Wiring Specialties, a quick google search will tell you everything you need to know. Simply put, they are a Wiring Guru in the Nissan world.

Ide like to hear thoughts on this.

I think this could be very positive. I think the most that should be made is 20----->25 harness. This will be a very common harness that could be used and many people do these swaps. Also depends on the pricing. I know I got a great deal on my wiring harness just because the guy that did mine could prolly do it in his sleep but if it is good pricing you guys could do well with these. Also I have heard good things about these wiring harneses.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Planning on doing a refresh in the fall, wouldn't mind a new harness etc as they are old and brittle.

Agreed. Some of these harnesses are approaching 20 years in age, some older. The connectors get old and brittle and the loom covers begin to crack.

i priced a new ignition coil loom for mine and nissan wanted $240 for it, so I was going to make my own however if someone else is going to sell aftermarket ones im all for it.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeahhh mine are so stiff that I could lift the whole thing up and it would keep it's shape, like a twig. The connectors seem to be in great shape though. I think it would be a great idea, I'd be up for it, but not right now.

Depending on pricing, doesn't sound like a bad idea!

We are in development of a replacement VG harness for the 300zx crowd. If the interest is their for RB's we will definitely start a prototype.
