  • Importing from the uk

Hey guys, just wondering if anybody knows of any importers getting cars in the east coast? Im going to buy a skyline, but all the cars I like or considering are in bc or oil land.....which cost way too much to ship in my opinion.

Just wanted to toss it out there!

    Cheers

GTR's in the UK would cost more du to the exchange rate. I think... Our best bet it to buy one from Ontario...

            best route^

ontario cars are usually overpriced compared to out west. and youd still save a lot of money after paying for a flight and gas than buying an ontario car

From my personal experience, the shipping from BC to Ontario was more than from Japan to BC! Nuts! But I didn't use the cheapest shipper.

              $1000~ for truck shipping
$400 for one way ticket to Vancouver

I would have driven mine back from BC, except it was winter

How much gas would you think for vancouver to NB lol 1000$+. And road tripping a unknown car CROSS-Country minus NFLD. Imagine if that thing would break in the middle of saskatchewan! Would really suck lol
OH! and all the harassment from cops on a plateless RHD lol Lion's den Here I come!!

I could always fly west and drive back but that's hella expensive, plus you have no idea what the car is going to be like, your just hoping that the guy selling is telling you the truth about the car...

It's a long way to go too look at a car. It's just the factors beyond your control.... Like a break down driving back etc.
Rail shipping from surry area to the end of the line in Halifax is priced out to be ruffly $1600( not including tax and some type of shipping warranty) so ither way it's gonna be about same as if you buy in bc VS. Higher price ont area.

Just sucks, I wish skylines were in masses in the east(like nl,ns,nb) I would be in heaven!

Nooooo I drove mine back from Swift current to winnipeg (with temp), Didn't see a single cop untill i got back to winnipeg. If you were somehow by pure bad luck get pulled over on the number 1 if you explained to them you were simply brining it home, i guarantee they would let you go. and gas accross country I think 5-600 would get you from end to end. depending how hard your going.

apx. 80 bucks a fill (overestimate as you don't usually have to fill the full tank when you stop), and at least 500k to a tank, 8ish stops for gas. I don't know the exact milage and i don't plan on figuring it out lol but these are some rough estimates to go on.

Depends on mods to the car too, right? A stroker is gonna get worse fuel economy than a stock RB26. But Tony has more or less nailed that. 5-600 bucks would get you end to end easily

Hmmm. I guess it changes my way of thinking. I will use Adam @ feast but I was scared about the price of gas etc. Still scared shitless about driving the GTR back to NB with lil to no maintenance done in Japan.

I would like to change the oils, etc. before leaving BC.

How much would this cost in a BC shop?

I'll ask the question again... When are you looking at buying. I work with an importer here in Halifax. They've been bringing in cars for years... including Skylines.

Sorry I didn't think you were talking to me

                              Winter/Spring of 2012 I would estimate.
