You definatley have to be easy with the throttle in 2nd gear or it just lays rubber down on corner exit.

so your miata is 400 pounds over its curb wieght with you in it and you fd is over a hundred pounds lighter than its curb weight with full interior.......... dont get it. friend had one with flying miata turbo kit and its wasnt even close to that with him in it. Anyways nice car, looks killer on the track!

Yeah I was gonna make a comment about that... I was gonna say you must be a big guy and your fd is filled with helium!

This was truck stop weigh scales. The Miata is not that light. With the roll bar in it and all the Rotrex stuff, under chassis bracing etc it adds a fair bit of weight.

As for the FD, I can't comment as to why it was that weight. Perhaps the scales were off, but that was definatley what it said.

edit: come to think of it, the FD weight may have been without me in it. I do remember weighing it with and without me in it but it's so long ago I can't be sure..

I would just like you to know this thread made me look into the JR M45 Kit last night aswell as the flyin miata Voodo..... So if I become very broke from creating a boosted miata I'm blaming you..

... wait until you see my continuation of this project. It gets crazier. Won't say more until I'm working on it though. Lets just say it does not involve taking anything off, only adding more....


Oh, and the M45's are garbage. Go with a turbo or a Rotrex. A GT2560R is the go-to turbo for a solid 250whp.
