Read this on a Subaru forum and thought I'd share.

Owner of his Subaru puts his car up for sale.

19-year old contacts him offering a trade for a Jeep SRT8

Owner agrees to the trade because he needs more space for his work

Within a month, transmission craps out on him, spends $1000-2000 on maintenance.

Not long after that, he discovers the VIN has been changed and the Jeep is stolen

He seems to be receiving minimal support from the police or DMV.

Now he lost everything. The kid who scammed him is getting flamed like no tomorrow.

Scoobywagon should've known not to trust STiMorris, I mean c'mon he has one of the worst manufactured car brands in his name.

He's getting lots of those "you shouldn't have trusted a kid" stories going.

I can only feel bad for the guy, and hope this gets sorted out to his best interest as soon as possible.

lol i like all the threats the other members are posting. It seems as though he will be lucky to get anything more than lawyer fees out of it and yes the MoT works very shitty when prosecuting previous owners. I had an issue with that ******* douche bag with the 240sx and illegal safety (cant remember his user name but his account was deleted) but atleast he was forced to return the money and buy it back.

Dude I had a chance to move most of my stuff out last night :/ I went to Brampton and back twice.

                  8 hours of driving...

But to stay on topic, the kid seems to have replied. He claims he knew nothing about the swapped VIN and that it's not his responsibility. That the new owner must contact the original owner..

No, he brought the car to a dealership and they told him the VIN # didnt match so he traded for the STi to wash his hands of the mess.
