A new vehicle for my wife!!!

Long story short, my wife, 9 month old daughter and mother in law were T boned by an F-150,unattentive driver (looking for sun glasses while turning...) and thrown into a light pole. They're pretty sore and bruised up but made it out ok. Speeds were thankfully only 60km/hr from opposite directions.

Thinking we'll be buying another Murano if it gets written off... had it for less than 8 months. Gotta say though, they weren't kidding about excellent safety/crash ratings.

Glad to hear that's the extent of the damage and everybody made it out ok. A lot of truck owners in alberta have no driver sense.

Glad to hear they are ok..

I hope they just write it off and give you money to buy a newer one (I think it'll be much safer)

I'm not sure if they'll write it off. The Murano is 8 months old and tagged at $52k so I can't see that much damage there (percentage of cost I think).

The back seat was "eated" by the mother in-law's knees I think but she's not sore for some reason.... Baby was fine other than a small bruise at least.

Based of the structural damage like the rad support being caked in and there being a bent frame probably I would put my money on it that you get a check of mid to high 40k range to compensate your losses. For them to source the work to all the different people they need to wouldn't be worth it. I would imagine that that you'll do alright in this situation. Best part being that everyone is ok.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!

Don't you guys have the insurance option of getting a brand new car when it's a total loss? I don't know what it's called in English, but in French it's "valeur a neuf".

It costs an extra 50$ per year, is only available for the first 5 years of ownership of a brand new car, and if it's a total loss, they buy you a brand new car of the same make and model.

That way you don't get depreciation loss, like this one where it retails at 52k and they would only give you 40k.
