  • Laptops shiny display vs matt

I just bought a laptop on the weekend, I ended up with a Samsung I like the specs i5 2450m, 1 terabyte hard drive, 8g ram dedicated graphics card... It was on sale 699, the only thing I am not sure about is the Matt display a Samsung selling feature, I think there are lots of positives about it except viewing angle and it just makes my laptop look dated. I have two weeks to change my mind. I guess I am like a crow I like shiny stuff but Matt display is probably easier on the eyes. Input?? I was also looking at Sony Viaos

the glossy screens look better because the colours are more vibrant. I used to thing that there was a lot of glare, but I realized that it was mostly because the electronics stores have such bright lights. At my house the glossy screen isn't a problem.
I have matte monitors on my desktop though, and those look great too. I think you will be OK either way.

glossy screen on laptops sucks trust me plenty of glare for instant when on the bus or at school with classrooms that don't have the best lighting

depends where you use it but in my class, there's big spot so I WAYYY prefer my matt display than all my friends's glossy display.

I use my laptop 70% for school and if I really want to enjoy quality video, I will just send it to my USB key and put it in my plasma screen, ya know

just get a gloss...if the glare is bad, turn your display colour up lol. Turn it back down when the lighting is more suitable.

              What model samsung?

Honestly the matte vs shiney display matters a whole lot less than the quality of what's behind it.

I have an HP HDX 18T with a shiny display that's incredible and an asus G73 with a shiny display that's ****.

Long ago I had a dell with a great matte display.
