Would you retire today if you won $5 million dollars?
Would you retire today if you won $5 million dollars?
Heard this on the radio yesterday, simple question yet many different answers. Some people say yes, others prefer to keep working so they don't feel useless/lazy.
Open a shop, buy small house on acreage, and invest the rest between realty/property & certain commodity's and Ive always said I would donate a large amount to Vancouver children's hospital If I ever won!
Then I would just kick back and enjoy life as my own boss! Its easy to make a decent annual income from 5million.
To sum it up, I would quit my day job and start working for myself rather than retire all together.
Being a Chemistry teacher I would build a huge super nice lab so that students actually have to chance to SEE how cool chemistry is really is. Oh and would build some nice cars too!
I definitely wouldnt retire. I would spend all the money on real estate and investments and keep some money back just in case. But I would also share some with family and make sure everyone was doing ok.
If I won more than 5 I would definitely buy a property that I could make a race track on.
Miss driving sooooo bad! Need to get a car on the road ASAP!
Find investors, build a race track, build my house on that property, generate another 5 million for myself 10 years later, kick back and live off the interest.
Simple saying goes with 5 million, keep the principal, spend the interest. With a house paid for, i'd be sitting at $100k a year on interest alone, more than enough to work on cars all day
I wouldn't retire, I'd get so bored.
I'd buy a nice house (and maybe a Ferrari), and invest the rest. Keeping that kind of cash in investments will give you plenty to live off of in the future.
I might retire. I'd travel all around the world, invest on real estate, give to family/friends. And like Nimble, i'd give a share to charity. I'd have couple of houses in strategic places...
Building a track on my property is a pretty good idea...
My sky got 99 problems but to find bitches ain't one
Couldn't retire but I'd take a 6 month leave of absence (without pay) to let the media cool off, maybe visit some family across the country but definitely not retire.
