Paypal ??

Hi !

So whats the deal with Paypal & Canada,

Ive noticed when trying to buy a number of items in the For Sale section that buyers wont Accept Paypal at all ??

Other GTR Forums all over the World sellers always use Paypal.

Cause it's too easy and there is buyer protection I do believe.... Not things people what when trying to sell shitty parts! Well that's my experience with it

I'm in Canada and that's the only thing I use. Maybe because of the service fees which are easily avoidable? Other than that I have never had any issues paying or getting paid from PayPal.

Probably the fees, we can use Interac Email Transfer with no fees, but ten again no safety net.
I would think that most people do accept PayPal though.

I don't think it has to do with trying to sell bad parts, a good bunch of the users are cheap or rather I should say, tight budgeted.

I add the Fee's on top of the selling price if the Seller wants that anyway so the Fee's cant be an excuse. Or most sellers just add that into the price. Anyway just to bad

The lastest one is that some wont Post outside of Canada.......Not sure what is so difficult about Postage.

I will ship anything outside the country that I'm selling which is always priced fairly for the condition. If someone won't ship out of canada, they are lazy. I mean, cmon, 95% of the parts we BUY on this site comes with other countries!!

I have heard feedback of people selling a part in good faith, getting the money in their PayPal acct., transferring that money to their bank, sending the part then the buyer putting a stop payment (in the form of "I didn't authorize this transaction") and PayPal coming after the seller with legal mumbojumbo to make his day that much better. I don't know how frequently that happens but it must happen enough to generate at least 200 items on a google search of "PayPal scams".

My acct. was compromised about a month ago.......sh1t happens.

Im willing to paypal anytime, but prefer EMT as paypal takes 8 days for a transfer for me. No CC on my paypal

OBSESSION - I am sorry if I insulted you by not being willing to ship to South Africa. It justs seems a little suspect to ship a generic $50 catch can 1/2 way around the world when catch cans are very plentifull worldwide.

Probably because everyone has a bank account and it's free to email money transfer. Not everyone has a PayPal account. Just one more thing to keep track of and pay service fees too.

Thats a little odd, I will ALWAYS have zero worries taking EMT, paying EMT though takes a leap of faith. I only deal with guys with a good history on here when it comes to buying, selling, once the money is transfered into my acct., off the part goes. Zero worries.
