  • Couple cars I drove at SEMA 2012

After drooling over the hottest cars in the industry, we had some cars lined up to actually drive! We got the Fisker Karma to cruise around Vegas in. Then later I was supposed to drive a Gallardo Superleggera LP570-4 and F430 Scuderia but decided to go for the McLaren MP4-12C instead on the 1.7mi track at Las Vegas Speedway.

Would put both in my garage!

Congrats on surviving a drive in the Fisker without spontaneously combusting!

So, how was it. Is it a "drivers car" or a robot like the new GTR and the EVO X. Thought about going out there, even got the proper health insurance to cover me in a motorsport environment but never went. Took all 5 days to see all of SEMA. My feet really hurt.

          Jon.

5 days at SEMA? It's only 4. Yeah if you're new to the show you'll get killed. I've learned lots to see it all and not be dead in the process.

The MP4-12C was incredible it simply does what you ask of it. In normal mode it babysits you, but in a fast way. Sport more you could definitely use the throttle to push it around corners. I got it to step out a couple of times and although it spooked me a bit an ease of the throttle and gently steer into it, problem solved. The acceleration is impressive and it's eager for a smaller displacement, small turbo setup over a large band.

I'm sure its faster than my GTR around that track but doesn't feel it as it does so effortlessly, quietly and click through gears like nothing while I'm fighting the R32.

It was definitely tearing up the track and the instructor gave me props for it, so it was being pushed.

Yea, like idiots we went on Mon. to check out the setup and sneak in to se what we could. Now that we've got that out of our system, 3 days is plenty.

Sounds like a good day at the track, definately going to check that out next time.
