Okay guys,

My bed is awful. how the fck you guys shop for a bed that dont squick ? I just dont feel confortable entering the bed store and just swinging on each of them till I find one that dont make sound LOL!!

So whats the key feature I should look at ? no psring ? super stiff spring ? foam ?

Individually packed springs are your friend. Foam top may help. Go for a dense boxframe, pad the bottom of your frame's legs. Simple acoustics, go heavy and dense.

Reminded me of that time I was a freshman in uni and bent my futon's frame.

Foam is good if have a hard surface for it to sit on (solid wood or wood slats). It deforms (concaves) in the middle if it sits on a wire frame with springs on the edges.

With a spring mattress, the springs can break through the mattress over time and poke into your back. I would avoid springs if possible. Water bed is cool, but don't want to puncture it.

So foam and slats or foam and hard wood. Also there's probably many types of foam (do your research on the different brands and foam they use). Foam will deform, so probably needs replacing, but should be cheaper to replace.

If are good with tools, wood, can make your own bed, then use foam if you wanted.

Leave it. The noise irritation will be a good distraction to buy you an extra minute or two.
Seriously though any mattress store has an option to try for up to a certain period of time. A test drive if you will.
Where we bought our mattress they have a "bed" loaded with sensors and they do an assessment to help set you up with the best bed. But that's intended to get you the best sleep, not the best f&@k.
