I plan on using a skyline as my next daily driver. Not worried about the cost of maintenance.

Just wondering, since I work on the road, if Nissan dealerships know what they're doing when it comes to these kind of cars?

Or should dealerships be avoided in favour of performance shops when they can be found?

              Thanks!

Dealerships always charge what it costs their manpower to do the work opposed to how much the job costs.
Any performance shop in the gta should do it fairly
Dynamotorsports is my shop. Tony is reliable, talented and does quality work.

Yes avoid dealers, they know next to nothing about some of their older vehicles let alone jdm ones... you don't want to pay them for standing around scratching their heads

There's a guy at Ajax Nissan who is a specialized gtr guy He really knows what he's doing with skylines. There's at least 6 or 7 skylines that go to him and he does a bunch of new gtr's too.

And Nissan has a lot of money.. So if they mess your car up they fix it all up with genuine parts.

The parts guy at Kingston Nissan -think his name's Robert- specializes on getting oem parts from Nissan Japan He's a member of this forum,

I'd like you consider Riworx / Japan Auto Supply located 427/7
I've been a customer for around 5 years. He's a licensed tech, extremely proficient in electrical systems and very well known among the 240 guys. He is a skyline owner and goes to japan yearly to source his own parts and cars.

If your engine is fairly stock, then Nissan dealership can help. Make sure it's a Skyline dealership that sells GTR's, etc, as they should have the training, workshop manuals, equipment (Consult, etc) to service them properly.

But once you fit Nistune to stock ECU, from memory they can't check certain parts ECU (test's, etc). Performance shop would be best, as they tend to know more about the ECU tuning, maintenance of performance engines (factory maintenance schedules or time, km between changing oil, weight of oil used, oil filter, sparkplugs, etc doesn't apply anymore), brake upgrades, suspension, etc to suit.

From personal experience Nissan don't have GTRs in their service database (in fact the manager said the closest she could get was a Saturn Sky or Buick Skylark )

FAST (their parts software) does carry GTR parts and you can order any OEM part through them if you find a very friendly part technician. Their alignment setup also has all the JDM variations but you'll have to know your chassis designation (BNR32 non V-spec etc) for a manual search.

Thanks for all the responses regarding my dealership question!

Currently working in the Vaughan area, so I will be giving Riworx a call... Just for an oil change, fuel filter, oil filter, ect. Already have my own oil and filters. Just need the labour done. Hopefully they can hook me up. Thanks Zac.
