Canal Days Car Show! - (Free To Enter)

The 16th annual Canal Days car show is coming up, and I was hoping to get a couple people to come out to it with me this year.
Last year I took first place in the Import class, but my car was honestly lost in the crowd. I was thinking that if we could get together a large enough group, the Skyline presence would be known as well as GTRC's presence

The show is Sunday August 3rd, and starts bright and early. Registration starts at 8:00am, and the park usually fills up by 11:30am. (I showed up at 10:30 and got an ok spot)

The show is free to enter, and the winners get snazzy plaques. There are all kinds of door prizes and stuff too.

I was hoping to maybe get a couple Skylines together and meet up before the car show started, then we could roll in together around 10am (sorry guys if it's early).

If anybody is interesting in making the trip out that would be awesome. It'd be great to see some of the GTA boys make the trip down. Otherwise it may just end up being myself, and maybe the other Niagara owners?...

Port Colborne is at the south end of the Niagara Region.
the park is right along the shoreline of Lake Erie. (use address of 1 Marina Road, Port Colborne ON in Mapquest)

Directions from Toronto:
-take the QEW into Niagara (route to QEW depends on location in TO)
-exit the QEW onto Victoria Avenue in Vineland (Regional Road 24)
-follow Victoria Avenue to Highway 3 (watch for cops)
-follow Highway 3 into Port Colborne
total trip is about an hour from Burlington

basic event info is on their website but I don't recommend using their directions. (I know Highway 406 will be closed at the time)

So anybody who is coming, that's great.

I was thinking of meeting up at the No Frills in Port Colborne around 9:00am
for anybody coming in from out of town using my directions, its on the corner of Highway 3 and 58 which is right along my route into town on the above map. I'll confirm if that's where we'll meet closer to the date.

I may have a couple mopars coming too, so there should be a significant influx of modern if we can all make it there.

For everybody who's never been to this carshow, it is one of Ontario's largest classic and custom car shows, and the largest free show in Ontario. Last year there were over 500 cars entered in 50+ classes ranging from 1912 Fords, to 2008 Mazdas. The show is put on by a few local businesses and the local Lion's club, and since it's all about the cars they've done their best to make it free to everybody. If more than expected show up for a specific class, they try and make a new class to better suit the turnout, and so more people have fun.

Last year my car drew a crowd from the moment it hit the grass. People came out of nowhere just to watch and listen to my car park. It was funny to watch considering my car is an essentially stock GTS-t Type M.
