  • Need a favor from GT-R Owners in the GTA!

    Hey guys,
I have a favor to ask from all the GT-R owners in the GTA.
I have been having a few issues with my car, the details can be found here:

Basically what happened is, I did a waterpump and timing belt change at 100k and after that, my car seemed to hesistate a lot
at 5.5k, it wouldnt go past that. I thought it might have been that I got the timing wrong, but I rechecked this weekend and now
Iam 120% sure its spot on. Before that I thought it was the mafs, so I bought a set of mafs from a member here. The seller claimed
a 100k on the mafs and cleaned them before sending them out. When I got them, they did seem clean and in good condition. I installed
them on my car and it didnt make a difference. Now no discredit to the seller, but the mafs seemed to me the same age as my car, so
I dont know whether they were bad as well.

What want to do now is:
    - Borrow someones mafs from a FULLY WORKING car and use them for a test run
    - if that doesnt work, then I would like to borrow your coils and try them out as well, mine seem to be ok but as we know with coils,
a good reading doesnt always mean they are bad.

If you are in the GTA area, and can help out, I would HIHGLY appriciate it. I have no problem coming to you and we can do the work together.
I promise, food and drinks, OR if you like cash instead then no problem, but please be reasonable as this probably wont take that long.

Please let me know. Thanks guys
    Ron

I have a few sets of coils sitting around that I can tell you are good. Have you checked your plugs ? The condition of your plugs will tell you a lot about your motor. Also check and try adjusting your tps. If you need a hand or need to borrow coils or anything, let me know. You can text me at 416-894-6204.
    Best of luck!

    btw, I'm located in aurora.

I just read over your other post, and it does sound like you have a boost leak. Usually if it's bad mafs it will just cut out. But not ruling them out. Is it only at a certain boost level that is does this?
I work at part source in newmarket tonight 5 - 9 so come by if you'd like!

        Hey Bill,
No I haven't checked the plugs because they are relatively new. I got the car in early May and i immediately put in some new BKR7Es. Although it is on my list of things to check:
        - CONFIRMED working mafs
        - CONFIRMED working coils
        - plugs
        - waste gates

I did check the TPS, the more I retard the timing the better it seems to pull. I will be getting a nissan timing specialist to get the timing SPOT on and after that if it still continues, I think its safe enough to rule out timing.

I cant seem to get the stock boost gauge past 4, maybe 5 tops. I hasn't hit 7 since all of this started.

I wouldn't mind trying out your coils just to rule them out. Today isn't the best as I don't know when i would get off work. How about tomorrow?
I also dont have any tools lol, I do all my work at a friends house, do you have the stuff we need to change the coils?

It is it is. I got the problem fixed this weekend!! It turned out to be a loose clamp on one of the intercooler pipes. How stupid!!
