No front plate Ok in B.C then?

I replied to this thread back in 2007.. and here in 2011.. im still not rocking a front plate..

Dont even have it in the car with me..

I do spend most of my time on the East side of the rivers (Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford) but im in vancouver/richmond/burnaby at least 8 times a week, never have an issue..

Lol... I haven't ran a front plate since like 07. On the Gts-t, FD, Mini, Beat, 2 VW's and the Miata.

Never been hassled or ticketed. And I've been pulled over MORE than a few times

ha i got in **** for no plate in my ranger i had my dirt bikes in the back and he pulled us over we wer coverd in mud and he asked what we had bin doing i replide dirt bikeing sir lol i couldnt hellp but laf i felt like telling the ass hole we just came from a weding or sumthing lol like what was he expecting me to say then he asked if we had smoked weed or had bin drinking after he couldnt find eny thing he gave me the tiket for no front plate so naw i run one on my gtst and i hate the way it looks on my body kit but i have shity luck with cops ide like to tell them all to go to hell but that probs would not hellp so front plate it is

I always felt that the no licence plate ticket was for people that mouthed off to the cops or were acting smart...,

I got a ticket for having my front plate on my dash....I was pumping gas into my car and a female police officer came over and asked is this your car? I replied saying well I am pumping gas into it LOL.....then she said $109 in a very impolite voice and that was the end of it.

Some cops care and some dont...i just had bad luck!

It's mandatory in Manitoba, if you have it in your front window you will still be pulled over and ticketed. I phoned into a radio show one time on the topic of license plates saying we should get rid of the front one like most other provinces...the radio host tried to come back and say it's for "safety" reasons, they are there to help against theft and people who try to gas and go, and that most of the provinces that do not require a front plate are in the process of switching back to both plates. He cut me off after he said his bit and i just rolled my eyes and continued on my drive....good joke!

drove around in BC for a year with no front plate, never got hassled for it. finally put it on because hey, 109 dollar ticket is 109 dollars i could use for something else.

I drove around for over 3 years in my scirocco,,, no front plate,,,

some some yahoo on the freeway last weekend,,, no backplate,,, and yes no front plate.... not temp insurance... nothing !!!!
the thing was a box of sh*t...

to settle things up about this question you must have a front liscence plate. i got pulled over and handed a $196.00 ticket for not displaying my fron plate, which was in my front window on my dash at the time the car had only been in canada for 2 weeks. however if you look into the mva it does not specify where or how the plate must be mounted, just that its visible from the front. if youre given a ticket you can fight it and probably win but i didnt feel like taking a day off work losing the wages and driving a 3 hour round trip to duke it out with a cop in court. lessen here, display from the front on the bumper and you will never have a problem.

having it in the front window is a hazard and you actualy get a different ticket for that..

if you arent going to mount it.. dont even have it with you.. (Thats what i do)

and then you only get a 109 ticket..
