Just got back from Grouse... sick opening day. They were only supposed to have paradise open, but their new lift broke down so they opened the cut. Can't beat 10 passes of fresh lines of 2' deep snow at 2pm in the afternoon!

Going to be a good season, I can feel it.

That looks beautiful, I'm jealous! Our mountains are opening now as well, I wanted to go this weekend, but the wife's board broke a binding strap, and I gotta go get new bindings today.

Oh man, I'm excited for the ski/snowboard season. I've been a poor starving student for the past 7 years and this winter I'm going to make up a bit for lost time. I grew up in Kelowna and have had a pass at Big White for many many years. I've been going through withdrawal here. I hope to be going to most local hills from Abby to Whistler, and then also down to Mt. Baker and of course Big White at least a few times.

I wish I had my camera more often because I also worked there for one season and would sometimes go out with my buddy that was a patroler and shred the pow ... virgin tracks...was a thing of beauty.

haha, no. I got there at 2:30. I wasn't planning on going, because I would rather not ride paradise all day, but when I heard they were opening the cut I booked it there so fast. Riding down papertrail for the first run of the year was tight. Yes, it was "technically" closed buy I didn't give a ****. I got stuck so many times because I was riding my 154cm park board through 2 foot pow.

looks like next Monday is going to be the next good day. Supposed to snow 10cm in N Van on Sunday night... I'm going to be there at 8am, provided Olympic is open.

Sweet, grouse is looking good. I'm heading up to big white until christmas, should be fun. I'll take some pictures and post them up. If anyone has asian fever, best go up tomorrow because the UBC asian varsity club will be there hahaha no joke.

I went yesterday, and it was sick. Got there for 8am and got first tracks down papertrail and the expo. 10cms of fresh.

and more on the way. they even opened buckhorn today (closed yesterday, but I still rode it).

Monday should be the next good day to go as we're supposed to get 10cms down here on Sunday night.

I don't go unless there is snow the night before. After working there for a season, you get bored when it's just groomed and the nice runs are all tracked/mogul'ed out.

supposed to get 15cms overnight from Sunday to Monday.

the snow is bloody vicious, not even sure if i'll be able to get out of my driveway... it's sticking really quickly. plus i'm sore as hell, had some really lame wipeouts, and i wanna get a better set of boots
