  • Edmonton Car meet, May 1st. (HUGE!!!)

So last year we opened our car season with a gigantic meet. At one point in the night be and a buddy physically counted 273 cars and there were way more coming and going throughout the night. Everything showed up from lowrider classics to Ferrari's and Lambos. We're hoping this one is just as big or bigger so anyone in the area or wanting to make the trip (it's a Saturday night) it should be a good time.

Seriously it was a good meet. In edmonton we have an officer who posts on our local forums to answer our law/traffic related questions, and he was in attendance. I don't know him but he seems like a good guy, he never went around handing out tickets for anything but when some guy tried to do a burnout in the lot full of people he stopped him. Here are some pictures from last year-

you can only see like half of it.

            guy does burnout

officer stops him...rather nice because its nice to go to a meet with nobody revving/doing burnouts to bring the wrong kind of attention.

I avoided the cruise afterward with everyone though, because all it takes is 1 guy to ruin it.

              he's in a muscle car
the prop was probably saying "sweet burnout dude"
Its the import people that have to keep their wits about them
the muscle guys can generally do whatever they want

as mentioned above, we have a cop that comes out regularly. i know him personally and he's a car enthusiast like the rest of us. We're also across the street from a police station. I've been going to this spot for 4 years now and have never had any tickets from these meets. The majority of the guys there are in their mid 20's. Lot's of money into alot of these cars.

^and no the cop at the window of that car wasn't complimenting the burnout, he was informing the driver that his shenanigans aren't welcome at the meets.

Too bad it's early in the summer. Most of us are still working on our cars then. If I go it'll be in the wife's truck. I'd be surprised if the car ran by then let alot being tuned.
