  • Need a GTR expert in the Lower Mainland/Vancouver Area

Hi guys, I may have found a GTR. Is there anyone in the Lower Mainland/Vancouver area that can help me out? If everything goes well, I would like to meet up with the guy and check it out but because I'm not too knowledgeable about the mechanical aspects of the GTR, is anyone willing to meet me and help me view the car and ask the questions that need to be asked? I will buy you lunch/dinner.

    Thanks so much!

$6000 for a GTR? You're definitely looking at a car with issues. Be careful man

if you do end up getting it go to evolution automotive in new westminster. he works on 3-4 of the local gtrs in the lowermainland including his. and i guarentee he will give you a price on labor cheaper than anyone around. i am also currently selling both my stock turbos. if you want more info pm me. i would also deff do a compression test on this motor first tho....

From my experience, you shouldn't skimp on certain things. A 6k GT-R is just asking for trouble. Buy a decent GT-R at a higher price, or buy a cheap GT-R and have to repair it later. Do it right the first time.

if you are looking for a project, go ahead. Since you'll probably replace everything on it.

yeah i dont know if i'm gonna do it yet but just wondering, can you still drive the gtr if the turbo has a leak? until the turbo is repaired, would it still okay to drive without damaging the engine?

Did you find yourself a good tech yet? unlike what the dude said about all you need is a good mec. I believe its important that who ever you go to is experienced with skylines specifically! These are pretty old scool advanced machines and a tamed and knowledgable tech will save you thousands! With a little tlc youll never pass on a solid gtr!

No offense, but it sounds like you need to do a bit more reading and learn a lot more about these cars and... well, cars in general before buying a GTR. It is NOT a car for the mechanically inapt.

If you do not know how a turbo system works, don't buy a turbo car. Seriously.
