  • Suspension shops in the GVRD?

Just picked up a set of lowering springs, and would like them installed right away. Not really sure where to go, or what kind of prices to expect for the work. Haven't done this kind of work before, so I'd like to leave it to a shop, but I don't want to spend an arm and a leg..

If the shop is in or near Abbotsford that's a bonus.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

For an install and alignment I would take it to Curtis Tire on Ware street. For just installation ForceFed on Peardonville could assemble/install them. Shouldn't take a shop more then 1hr for all 4 and varies around $80/hr. Alignment is $100 and saves improper tire wear.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'll check out Curtis Tire when I get back from camping.

I took it to Curtis Tire today for a quote. The guy at the desk told me it was a 6.4 hour job and the bill came to about 700. I got the hell out of there and called Forcefed. They were booked up through the week but were only asking about 250 for the job, not including alignment.

I then drove down to 360 Fabrication and got booked in for Wednesday. 1hr/corner @ 60 bucks an hour, plus another 60 for the 4 wheel alignment. Seems very reasonable, and 360 is amazing..the shop is huge, looks great, and is crawling with sick cars.

Ouch my bad on the estimates. 360 does amazing work but I had a bad experience there. After getting an icbc paint job done my turbo timer was showing a 6500 rpm rev on the max reading, I reset it at their parking lot and warned the owner not to rev it over 2500 rpm cold as my maf was acting up and hitting limp mode sometimes. This can happen at any shop and may have been just one of there lackeys. I confronted the owner and showed my proof but no one owned up to it after a shop meeting.

Now I do all work myself or watch the work being done. I hate handing my keys to anyone now.

Some of their cars are $100,000 - $250,000 hotrods that are built for show and go. Quality work and the paint was well done on my icbc repair.

The work is all done, but we hit a few speedbumps along the way..

I expected to shell out about $300 for all the work. Turns out the shocks were badly rusted and blown, so those had to be replaced as well..somehow they came to about $400 for all four...

Total bill for everything was just over $900. Springs, shocks, labour. Pretty choked.

That sucks. But at least you have a car that's on safe suspension now. Blown shocks are very bad for your health :P
