Try taking a look at beyond.ca, I think they have regular Wednesday night meets. There's also Driven this year, etc.

I was down at Chinook this week and it was packed!

I was just down at the Tims on 61st and Barlow, which is the usual hangout on Saturday nights. There were quite a few people there by 10:30, but it seemed very unfriendly. No one seemed interested in walking around and looking at the cars and chatting, they all just stood in small groups. Kind of weird.. I won't go back there alone.. They didn't even look at the Skyline until I lit it up on Barlow, the heads were spinning ;-)
