  • Diagnosing help in Calgary

    Hey guys,

Ever since I brought over my '97 R33 GTS25, it's had a weird hiccup at idle. Last year I replaced the spark plugs and cleaned the MAF and it seemed to make it a bit bitter, as well as cleared up a slight hesitation while accelerating, but the hiccup stubbornly remains. It seems to only happen when the engine is warmed up and you can feel it through the whole car, but the tachometer isn't making a noticeable indication of this happening.

I'm wondering if anyone in Calgary or area could help me with diagnosing it. I don't have the tools or know-how and quite frankly just don't know where to start, plus I don't want to pay a shop rate.

I will, of course, compensate you for your time at whatever price you deem necessary.

    Thanks in advance!

PS, if anyone could point me in the right direction to a shop where I could get my coilovers and exhaust installed that would be great too!

Could be a bad coil pack. If you have a spare, bring the car up to temp and try swapping it in.

So a local GTRC member took a look and gapped my plugs to a more correct setting, plus cleaned my MAF. Definitely seems to have taken care of the hiccup, so I'm very happy with that.

He also installed my exhaust, so big shout out to Steveo1502 for being super helpful!
