It's very easy, you need a meter that will measure resistence (canadian tire can hook you up for like 20bucks).

take off the cover over the plugs/coils. You can try to check them on the car by disconecting the coil lead but with the angle i found it easier to take the coil off first. Four screws per coil. Might as well and check the plugs too.

When you look at the coil from the front of the connector you can see three male leads. Looking straight at them you want to test resistence on the left and centre conection (this is the coil - and +). The actual poloarity for the test doesn't matter.

The shop manual says it should be between 0.6 and 0.9 ohms. I did mine, my lowest was 1.1, highest 1.5.

          .

i dont think i can do that because it only does it wen its hot, so, today, i drove it around until it started missing, then i started disconnecting the coils 1 by 1 and found out that coil 3 was missing, so i swaped coils 2 and 3, and tomorrow im gonna find out if cyl 2 is missing because we got a snow storm this afternoon, and i dont drive it in the snow

Its pretty damn tough to find a meter that will accuratly measure less than 1 Ohm for 20 bucks. I paid like $80 and it was + or - more then an Ohm...

              .

i got a nice day recently, went for a drive, and didnt misfire.........weird..............i drove it all day, and all i got was a little miss now and then. i drive it a little harder, and then it starts to missfire. so i stop on the side and check the coils to find out it is still number 3, even after i had swaped 2 and 3. any ideas??? harness???? injector???

                mine was rated + - 2% so at a 1.0 reading it's between 1.02 and .98
