So would a solution then be either a TMIC or maybe just a cheaper IC altogether?

I was thinking conspiracy theory: Mitsu is new in Canada and wants their other performance car, namely the cheaper to build in Normal, Illinois Eclipse to have a chance to establish itself before their harder to import Evo comes to town.

Whatever. :? Some cool cars they offer over in Japan that we don't get here are the FTO and the twin turbo Galant and Legnum (wagon version) twins. Over there TT awd sedans and wagons are all the rage. Two of my friends own white Legacy GTBs which absolutely screams on the wangans. Both bought them because they had kids. Nothing like 280 hp awd wagons with child seats in the back and groceries in the trunk

I want a Stagea with an R34 face

I suppose TMIC would work? But a bumper reinforcement would be easier and you wouldn't lose performance, I would think.

I believe that the EVO at Autopark was brought in by the owner. They have recently started bringing in cars due to the lower exchange rate. One of their main wholesale guys use to work for my dad and my dad also knows the owner of autopark as well. They are straight up guys and good to deal with Maybe I should see if they'll wholesale it?

US is 3 or 5 km and Canada is 8 km. The FMIC is not really the issue, the SRT-4 has a FMIC. Much of the problem came from the amount of damage done to the Evo's FMIC in the crash, insurance companies in Canada said "**** that ****" and probably lobbyed for the law to be changed as it has to be recent since only cars with 2000+ model years seem to be banned based on bumpers...GTO, MR-2, Evo.

Second thing, If you guys seriously want to track down the person with that car here's my idea.

Call Ministry of Transportation, tell them you found a license plate, it's a dealer license plate, these are the letters/numbers and you'd like the address of the dealer so you can return it. Normally they'd tell you to go take a hike, since it would mean giving out someones personal address, but since its a dealer its a business.

Go to this dealership, ask to speak to the fleet or lot manager who is usually the guy that handles who has what dealer plate. Chances are he knows who has this plate. Tell him that you were in an accident and the person driving this car was a witness and you saw a car with this plate number and it was a dealer plate. He'll probably give you the persons number or something like that. Then all you have to do is reverse 411 the persons number.

Good idea or am I stupid?

...my guess is that its either one of those Skylines brought in temporaily for a car show and then shipped out, or its illegal.

Pics don't work Johnny so I uploaded them for you:

I have no idea who took these pics, I got them off automotive forums a long time ago.

i am from vancouver. i know of at least 2 evos here running around. one of them belongs to bavaria, and has oregon tags because the owner has property over there. i mentioned it to an rcmp officer that i know and he dosen't think too highly about it, but didn't go into details... not sure how it works.

the other one was at wolfe mitsubishi in langley, british columbia. i remember them running ads in the paper advertising them as having the first evo in these parts... then it was for sale... and then suddenly it was registered and seen on the street with bc plates. i guess it's about time i gave them a phone call...

Those pictures were taken in LONDON, ON.

I've seen the car there more than once.

                  there's also a '90's cosmo there, too...

I think I said this before - but I know that R33. It went to a guy over in New York.

                    Its a Motorex legalized car.
