Hey does anyone have any experience with these turbo's? If i dont get the GT2680R-5's i was planning on getting, then im going with these.

I know they say 500-550hp max but i was more curious about how long they take to spool up.

link to my build thread for engine info:

Asking Price: $9999 or $2,000 down with financing - rate details http://www.son240sx.org/forums/showthread.php?t=49834 Location: 1970 Highway 7 West, Vaughan, Ontario Contact: Mike or Jason @ 647-430-3232 or email sales@rightdrive.ca In transit: Yes Expected ETA: December, 2009 Want to book a test drive with this vehicle?

If anyone has used these let me know what setup you have them on please!

The r34 n1's are actually the 2860r-7's, but garrett lists them as direct replacements anyways...

The -7's are a bit larger actually but use a larger frame. I'd assume they'd spool just as quick as mcfly said...

Should be a nice turbo setup

        I don't see a 2860R-9 listed on Garrett's site.

A link to a compressor and turbine map, or even a link to the product, for what you're considering would help.

no, the 2860's are a lot larger then the r34 n1's.

Here's a good link. You might check out the other tech centre pages too.

A quick look at the compressor map Tokes posted shows that the 2560-9 you're looking at about 80-85% of the flow a 2860R-5 would give you at a pressure ratio of 2.25 (1.2 bar or so) at a comparable efficiency.

You could expect a pair of these ones to spool earlier, but run out of breath earlier than the 2860R-5. It falls pretty much between the 2860R-5 and 2860R -7, so would probably be a good balance between power and responsiveness.

Having said that, it's always nice to get in touch with people who are running a similar setup and see what they've got to say.

                Cheers,

holy thats a lot of math, brings me back to the good 'ol days of math and physics...

so quicker spool for the 2560's and longer legs for the 2860's but both fall into the sweet zone on charts so thats good...
